## Community Q&A

**Q: How would you freshen up this exterior on a $10,000 budget!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I'm looking to update this 1950's split level. We're getting new windows so maybe this is a good time to change up the siding. Maybe add a portico? Porch? Planter boxes? The one shutter on either side looks funky
to me. Help!!

A: add roof projection over garage doors with corbels or large supports on ends. Change out windows smaller in width. Yes change out doors with more attractive appearance. Add new shutters along with the Windows. Color is critical. Adding a more dimensional look to components will enhance facade appearance.

**Q: barn door hardware question** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have 2 24 in, French doors I need to swing the same way. should I get 4 rollers or can I connect the 2 doors together somehow? my door space width is 44 in. we need to cover.
thank you.

A: Barn door hardware is good idea. Could hold doors together with Earth Magnets, recessed into the doors. Choice of hardware up to you.

**Q: How tall are the ceilings in this kitchen?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Ceiling height is 8ft. Estimated.
