> We can't recommend Wendy enough. She updated our kitchen and bathroom, and we were blown away by her expertise, communication, and professionalism throughout. After really understanding what we wanted, she made recommendations that hit the mark and stayed within our budget. She proactively kept us in the loop on shipments, installation, and anything else we needed to know, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Any question we had, she answered right away.
>
> What stood out most, though, was a small moment: even after her work was done, she took the time to meet our kids and let them show her the basement and their toys. That's Wendy in a nutshell: she goes above and beyond, and she's an absolute delight to work with.

> Working with Wendy on our basement renovation was one of the best decisions we made during the project. She brought such a great balance of design expertise, practicality, and efficiency from start to finish.
>
> I can be incredibly indecisive with design choices, and she was amazing at helping narrow things down without ever making me feel rushed or pressured. She not only helped me create a space that looks beautiful and feels cohesive, but also guided me toward decisions that made the renovation more worthwhile from a resale and long-term value perspective.
>
> Beyond being incredibly knowledgeable, she’s also just genuinely personable and easy to work with that by the end of the project, she felt more like a friend than just a designer. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone who can combine style, functionality, and real expertise while making the entire process enjoyable.

> I was referred to Wendy from a neighbor who had recently remodeled her kitchen. After interviewing several decorators, I decided that Wendy was the best person for me. I was initially apprehensive because my taste isn't really modern, but more farmhouse-modern. I was worried that my kitchen/first floor might be too modern after looking through other kitchens that she had designed, but I took the leap and decided to go with it! Honestly, it was the best decision I made. Wendy really listened to me and helped re-direct me when I was going in the wrong direction. We are so incredibly happy with how our first floor remodel has turned out! Wendy was very approachable, easy to reach, and organized. All of the contractors that she brought in were outstanding. I honestly don't have anything but good things to say. She did a fantastic job and we are so happy!

> Wendy is an amazing designer, and we are beyond happy with her work. After a major flood turned into a much bigger renovation than we anticipated, Wendy was such a huge help in getting us back into our new and improved house. She is so knowledgable and easy to work with, and she quickly learned our style in a way that also allowed us to be conscious of the cost. We are thrilled with our new master bedroom, bathroom and closet! She also updated our basement in a way that was cost-effective and also beautiful and comfortable for our family. You won't regret working with her, and you will love your house when she's finished!!

> Expert designer! My new kitchen is amazing and changed the feel of my whole house. Wendy was a pleasure to work with. So much so that I miss our daily phone calls. It was so easy to collaborate with her, she really understood the look I was going for. I’m already looking forward to my next project with her.

> I started my kitchen renovation thinking I could manage it on my own — but after just one overwhelming meeting with the architect, I called Wendy from the parking lot begging her to take over. And thank goodness I did.
>
> From the moment she stepped in, Wendy was everything I needed: creative, decisive, incredibly responsive, and just so easy to work with. She thought of all the little details I never would have considered, and made smart, stylish decisions that brought the whole vision to life. She moves fast, gets things DONE, and clearly knows her stuff inside and out.
>
> I loved working with her so much that we didn’t stop at the kitchen — we kept going and redesigned several more rooms in my home. Now, I can't imagine renovating anything without Wendy's guidance.
>
> And best of all? She's genuinely FUN to work with. Talented, trustworthy, and truly a joy. If you're even thinking about a renovation, call Wendy. You’ll thank yourself later.

> If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. When my wife suggested using a decorator, I was somewhat hesitant. However, the process was extremely easy and beneficial. Wendy far exceeded my expectations. Not only was she right-on with decorating suggestions, Wendy took the time to know us and tailor options to our general tastes. She was exceptionally responsive to any and all of our questions and concerns. Knowing we had a tight timeline; she pushed our contractor to make sure the property would be available to us at the earliest possible date. The improvements to our residence were stunning and the compliments we receive are very gratifying. We anticipate additional renovations in the future and the first call we will make is to Wendy.

> I just worked with Wendy to remodel two bathrooms in my home. She was incredibly responsive and easy to work with. She did a great job of helping me figure out my "style" and she made sure all of our decisions were practical for our needs. Our bathrooms turned out stunning and we are getting many compliments. I hope to work with her again for our future projects!

> I was introduced to Wendy just after I bought a home in Naples without any furniture. I was at a stand still when Wendy came in and offered to get me over the hurdle of lighting, tile, and wall paper choices. She worked so efficiently and was a pleasure when it came to helping me make tough decisions. I would highly recommend her as she is thoughtful, detail minded and overall a real professional.

> We just finished a large home improvement project with Wendy with the Wilk Design Group. She was FANTASTIC!!!! She is thorough, creative, easy to work with, respectful of budgets and timing and her contractors are phenomenal as well. We appreciated Wendy’s insight, perspective, and we are absolutely thrilled with the results. We will ONLY use Wendy for decorating and additional home projects in the future. Truly the BEST.

> Wendy (Sensitive Information Hidden) and the Wilk Design Group are the very best!! From Day One (many years ago), Wendy and her team have transformed my house into a welcoming, warm, comfortable, beautiful home! Wendy is on top of the latest trends that will stay current as times change with a small tweak or update; and she is extremely conscientious of her clients' budgets! The best thing about "my friend Wendy" is that she is easy to talk to with her warm smile, her sparkling eyes, her quick wit and her giant heart!! By the end of your (first) project with Wendy, you will consider her a dear friend and will be so excited for the next time you get to work with her again!!

**★★★★★ — Cheryl Landau, June 2024**

> Wendy (Wilk Design Group) was a pleasure to work with! Building a home and all of the choices that come with it, was completley overwhelming……Wendy came in and helped me narrow down my options and gave me insight and ideas that I would have never been able to come up with on my own. So thankful for her knowledge and expertise!

## Community Q&A

**Q: wallpaper question** *(in Photo Questions)*

Where is the wallpaper from? So cute!

A: Thank you! Wallpaper was purchased at JC Licht.

**Q: Help! Chair height seating on island?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are designing our new kitchen and we’ll have a an open floor plan so the LR, kitchen and dining table all flow. BUT I hate sitting on barstools and want to have the seating half of the island be chair seating height. I would think this is way more comfortable and the chairs can double as out extra chairs for dining room table when we put in the leaf. My husband says this will be awkward though for the people at island looking up at the person cooking in kitchen. Does anyone have a lowered seating half of island and love/hate it?!?

A: Love your kitchen layout. I vote for counter height and here are the reasons why:
1\. If you like to entertain counter height is good because it allows people to be sitting and eye level with anyone standing. This is why counter height tables are often referred to as "gathering tables"
2\. You may want to also consider a counter height table along with the island. Doing so would make space more versatile for entertaining. They are both comfortable heights for buffets and additional work surfaces when needed, plus you can interchange your seating between both.
3.I you like that idea you may also want to consider the idea of mixing up your seating with both back and backless. The backless can be tucked under when needing more walkway space.
4\. Counter height seats are much easier to navigate as we get older, because you don't have to lower yourself into or lift yourself out of the seat like you do with traditional table height chairs.
I hope this helps and enjoy your new kitchen

**Q: Do I center my range hood with the wall or island?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am in the process of getting cabinets drawn up. Do I center the range hood on the wall its on so that I have symmetrically sized cabinets on either side of it? Or center it with the island which makes the cabinets on either side of the range hood uneven? I had one cabinet lady tell me the designers usually line up the range hood on the wall with the fireplace in the adjoining great room? My natural instinct is to have it center with the island...

A: I would definitely center it with the island. That is a prominent sight line. I would also cut back on the amount of upper cabinets. Balance the hood with the same size cabinet on each side, and then do the same with the sink elevation.

**Q: Kitchen layout - HELP!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Please help me decide on my kitchen layout. What do you think about this plan?

Do you have any comments? Could you suggest a better layout?

A: You could do a counter height table with backless stools that could double as additional counter space or island for the kitchen. As everyone has stated it is MOST important to have is a well functioning and safe kitchen.
