A: Personally, Id follow the lines of the counter top in relation to where the sink is. Meaning, you'd want to the lines to be parallel. As far as a layout, in my opinion, when laying 12 x 24, its imperative to break the lines. Like a brick pattern. or **Q: What color of cabinets will work for this kitchen floor & counter?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi Houzzers, my first post on here after long enjoying many design ideas. We would like to keep the hardwood kitchen floors as it flows so well with the rest of the house. And we can't afford to replace the entire cabinetry and counter tops. So we're left with replacing the cabinet doors. We want a modern look. Problem is the floor and dark granite countertops limit our options as we don't want white or lighter colored cabinets. We're leaning towards grayish-colored or darker wood cabinets (but don't want it to be wood over-kill in the kitchen). Also the appliances will be upgraded to stainless steel. Any ideas please?!??
