**★★★★★ — DeSantis Landscapes, Jan. 2017**

> Thanks to Riverland Homes who provided excellent general contracting servicing while we worked with them on the landscaping of two Italian Villa estates in Aurora, Oregon. John and Larry's expertise, communication style, and professionalism made our experience with the clients seamless as we worked towards a hard dead line to provide a beautiful space for a large wedding. We look forward to working with them in the near future and would highly recommend them if you are considering a home remodel or new build.

> We have had the pleasure of working with John and Chris of Riverland Homes over several years. Their requirement for top quality, organization & communication with their subcontractors maintains the highest level of artistry & building excellence. In addition to working on many of their projects, Riverland Homes also built a private residence for a close family member. I can say without hesitation, their team is always talked about with great admiration for their skills & sensitivity, not only to their trade but to their clients. Riverland Homes is outstanding!

> It has been our pleasure to have been involved with Riverland Homes for the past 18 years. John Chlopek and his team do an exceptional job of providing the highest quality home construction projects—both new and remodels—for all of their clients. John is personally involved in all of the jobs and treats each one as if it were his own home.
> He has assembled a very talented team of subcontractors and suppliers that are capable of handling a broad spectrum of projects—from the simple to the complex. He has close relationships with the architectural and interior design community and has built projects of all manners of style. I would confidently recommend Riverland Homes to anyone.

> I have had the good fortune of supplying materials for Riverland Homes for 18 years, and the quality and care that go into every project is evident from start to finish. If you are considering building yourself a custom home, and you'd like the project to be without stress and surprises, and of the highest quality, consider Riverland Homes. BD/PMI

> Riverland Homes is a class act. I have built several homes with them and they are truly a first class operation. From the initial meeting to the minutia details of the last punch list and the year review, they are with you every step of the way. They are financially responsible but still creative in making your dreams a reality. They use top of the line sub contractors, keep a clean work place, have years of experience that has encountered almost any unique construction issue you may have. They run a very tight ship hold to their timeline and budget, they keep communications open with you as they go through the process. I trust them completely and never have to worry that they do what they say the will do. The product they put out is the highest quality,

> We have worked with Riverland Homes for over 20 years. Projects have ranged from very complex, steep hillside construction to budget driven additions/remodels. Riverland has shown consistant ability to tailor their service and approach to meet the project goals and needs of the client.
> Their attention to detail and follow up after project completion is a key component in maintaining satisfied clients.
>
> As a small architectural firm that specilzes in custom residential projects, it is imperative that each and every project succeeds in meeting or exceeding the customer's expectations. We value our relationship with Riverland Homes to acheive that goal and would highly recommend them.

> We feel very fortunate to have met John Chlopek and the Riverland team when we were looking to build our house; we could not have chosen a better team to work with on our family’s largest investment.
> John is much more than a great builder; he is an exceptional problem solver. He takes great care of your money as if it were his own. He and his team hold themselves to the highest standards of performance, customer satisfaction, honesty and integrity. They are open and honest. They are thorough and incredibly detail oriented.
> He is the kind of builder that anyone who has worked with him will recommend without any hesitation.
> I would recommend John Chlopek and Riverland Homes to my best friends and family and would chose to work with them should another home building opportunity present itself.

> I have to say that i have in all my years in and out of the Construction Industry ever experienced the Professionalism, attention to detail, timeliness, Budget, that Riverland Homes delivered. Their Sub Contractors and material providers were outstanding. The home was on schedule and our expectations from start to finish were surpassed in every way. John and Chris provided custom suggestions throughout the build that made the finished home much more than what was on the Architectural Plan.
>

> We have worked on projects with Riverland Homes, both new construction and remodels. We find John and his crew to be great to work with, and their projects always turn out with wonderful finish quality. They have consistently offered us the freedom to design technology into a project in any way the client desires, and coordinating any particular needs with Riverland has been easy. We always look forward to working with Riverland Homes and would recommend them to anyone looking for uncompromising quality.

**★★★★★ — thomaswarmstrong, Sept. 2012**

> I have used Riverland Homes on two major remodeling projects in the last ten years. The first was a million dollar remodel of an older home with an extensive addition and the second was an interior remodel in the $300,000 range. In each instance their work from beginning to end was impeccable and I recommend them unreservedly for any project, large or small.

**★★★★★ — johnwarton, Sept. 2012**

> Riverland Homes worked with an architect very familiar with our city's zoning requirements and committed to designing the home we wanted. John Chlopek kept a spreadsheet of all expenses - projected and actual - which we reviewed regularly, or at any time I requested. We controlled costs throughout the building process - small unexpected overruns were offset by small unexpected savings. Riverland's policy of no charge for changes before construction was helpful several times. John's subs were, almost without exception, very nice people - people we would be happy to have in our home, not just building it. In fact, we did have an open-house for subs to see the finished house. They were remarkably respectful and eager to build to our satisfaction. Some possessed skills (eg. woodworking, tiling) we didn't know still existed. So we end up like one of the references we checked before contracting with Riverland: "We would never build a house again...unless Riverland did it."

**★★★★★ — Joelle Jarvis @ Ronda Divers Interiors, Sept. 2012**

> I have worked with Riverland Homes for years and have always appreciated their organization. The job may be small or large, regardless it always runs smoothly. The team of Riverland Homes is pleasant to work with and are always keeping the clients their top priority.

## Community Q&A

**Q: How were the Timbers stained?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Did you stain the timbers yourself? We just had our house built on Vancouver Island and we have similar Douglas Fir timbers at front and rear of the home. The contractor used a Sikkens stain and a couple months later the timbers look terrible. Blotchy, what look like water stains, graying, even black spots. Can you tell me more about the staining process? our contractor is at a loss as to what happened or how to fix it. Much appreciated!

A: This is also Sikkens. It is the older 3 step process (we did this 13 years ago)

**Q: I need to find concrete contractor in daytona** *(in Photo Questions)*

Want to make back yard a concrete patio.

A: sorry, we're in portland, oregon. no daytona contractor information.

**Q: Whose siding is this? Lovely!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, who makes the siding and will it weather or pretty much stay as yyou see it?

A: It is cedar siding from a company called Haida Forest Products, this product called Haida Skirl, beveled edge. The siding does need to be painted with a sealant (in this case a Sikkens stain) to protect and maintain this color.

**Q: Where could I get this tile? Love the colors and how they tie in.** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: This is Chinese slate, available almost anywhere

**Q: What is this granite, please?** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is this granite, please?

A: Not sure. We built this home 8 years ago and no longer have that info

**Q: Materials used? Particularly cabinetry and windows. Thanks!** *(in Photo Questions)*

Materials used? Particularly cabinetry and windows. Thanks!

A: Alder Cabinets, Douglas Fir beams , Alder Wood windows.
