We just had our house built on Vancouver Island and we have similar Douglas Fir timbers at front and rear of the home. The contractor used a Sikkens stain and a couple months later the timbers look terrible. Blotchy, what look like water stains, graying, even black spots. Can you tell me more about the staining process? our contractor is at a loss as to what happened or how to fix it. Much appreciated! A: This is also Sikkens. A: It is cedar siding from a company called Haida Forest Products, this product called Haida Skirl, beveled edge. The siding does need to be painted with a sealant (in this case a Sikkens stain) to protect and maintain this color. **Q: Where could I get this tile?
