> I am a residential Interior designer who collaborates on window treatments with Gina from Window and fabric works. Gina could not be more helpful, knowledgable or professional. Gina is a pleasure and makes my job much easier. I highly recommend her whether you are an interior designer or someone looking for a talented reliable person to do your window treatments.

**Comment from Beyond Windows:**

> Thank you Kerri for that 5-star rating......WOW!......The photos above are fabulous. I don't always get to see the completed finished projects and how they all come together beautifully. Thank you for putting these out there for others to see.

> I would highly recommend this company. Professional and just plain nice to work with as a whole. Wonderful knowledge of fabrics and design - offered ideas I hadn't thought of but worked in my home beautifully. Also prompt on delivery and stayed on budget, which was extremely important.. When needed, we will definitely use them again.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Window treatment help!** *(in Home Decorating)*

I have a small open concept ranch with a huge picture window in the living room and small window, close by, in the dinning area. I used pottery barn curtains for the big window. I wasn’t going to do any window covering for the dinning area, but the sun shines directly in my eyes at dinner. Should I just do a white blinds or matching curtins? See pic of picture window, dinning area. Excuse all the junk laying around. Thanks!

A: Or a simple soft treatment w/ a roller or solar shade hidden on the underside

**Q: Kitchen window decor ideas** *(in Home Decorating)*

Looking for some cute decor ideas for the window in my kitchen . I would like to
keep it open & not add any shutters or valance

.

I love whites , blues & green.

A: Sheer shade

**Q: Window Treatment Help** *(in Home Decorating)*

I'm updating our dining room and am having difficulty with the curtain placement for this awkward window/ceiling layout. I know most designers will say to take the treatments to the top of the ceiling but the ceiling cutout makes this tricky. Should I put the rods at the top of the ceiling (at the sides of the windows) and have the curtains frame the window leaving the arch open or a rod at the top of the arch and tie backs on the sides? Any other ideas?

A: You could do partial hardware w/ panels at the sides.
This is a bit more dramatic and not for everyone. However a stunning sheer could be glorious and still allow the light to come through.

**Q: I need help with window treatments** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We are finishing a renovation of a circa 1835 Federal brick building in a historic downtown area. We love the appearance of the large windows and do not want to hide them and would like to be able to see outside. We also would like to present a unified appearance of window treatments from the street. We would like the treatments to offer sun filtering abilities for the east and south facing windows, and additionally provide privacy (only needed on the lower half) for bathrooms, and living areas at night. Any ideas would be appreciated.

A: This photo is from Houzz.

**Q: This window!** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Any suggestions about a window covering for this window. The bottom window is often open all day for the animals to enjoy. But needs some sort of covering in the evening for privacy.

A: Can you add more photos from different angles so we can see the space left and right of these as well as above?

**Q: Window Treatments for Large Windows** *(in Home Decorating)*

Replacing old cellular shades that were in our house when we purchased. They are filthy and the cords are starting to break. Not really looking to put up curtains, valances, etc. Looking for something cordless (toddler) and think we've decided on Bali's cordless "Daybreak Crystal" cellular shades, but I want to be sure. Any other ideas for window treatments?

There are 6 windows total that are each 42" x 72". We really like our view and the treatments are more so for privacy at night.

Picture below from when we first moved in. Excuse the panoramic photo (there's a full other window on the left side where the image stops) and pink walls (they're now RH Silver Sage).

A: Pretty much anything cordless and/or top-down-bottom-up (TDBU) would work. Remember with TDBU, there will be the guide cords exposed in the glass area of the window when in the top-down use. Some clients don't mind them, others do.
