We ordered a custom end grain countertop that is huge and cost many thousands. The company worked tirelessly to drill down on details of the project and get it right. Finally, it is shipped to us. We sign for it, unpack it, and open it. It was BROKEN in two! This was clearly the fault of shipping company, who would not reload it after we had signed for it. Huge bummer. Well, Grothouse dealt with shipper and insurance, who apparently denied their claim (and presumably Grothouse at the error that was not their fault). Even more stand-up for me is that they got right on top making us a brand new piece, at no charge whatsoever to us, and put the production at the head of the line. The new piece arrived promptly, no questions asked. This could have gone a number of ways, and Grothouse stood up and handled it with utmost integrity and responsibility.
