The fireplace mantle dimensions are 61.5" off the floor 85" wide 10" deep and 23" deep on returns 10" tall. Knee braces are 11.5" x 5.5" . Width and length? A: Hello Carla, The house is 40 feet wide and 42 feet deep. The basement is 684 square feet. It could be made larger but local zoning prevented us from making it larger. The main floor is 1414 square feet and the upper floor is 1398. The total square footage is 3496 square feet.
