With Laurie's assistance, we located a 1500 square foot town home in a nearby neighborhood. Although the size and location of the unit fit our requirements, we were not impressed with the outdated, mid nineties décor and closed-in kitchen arrangement. Laurie could envision removing the walls around the outdated kitchen and creating a modern, open space for comfortable daily living as will as occasional entertaining. A challenge for Laurie was our wish to incorporate a few key pieces of our existing furniture, which she accomplished seamlessly. > Material selections progressed as the plans were developing, so we could make selections and begin to see how things would fit together. A number of alternatives were proposed for each selection which allowed us to guide the design, but also expanded our horizons to consider products, styles and color combinations beyond our normal comfort zone. Having dealt with designers in the past that tend to simply influence personal tastes, it was with skepticism that we embarked on the latest project. After doing some research, we enlisted Laurie’s expertise. How refreshing to start off our homework by reviewing projects on Houzz that matched our style interests. Without influencing, Laurie then took our thoughts and transformed them into a masterpiece. Unlike some past experiences, we soon found that Laurie is a full service designer whereby all aspects of the project were managed from start to finish. The process started with CAD designs that required only minor modifications. Laurie then competitively bid the trades, coming up with at least three qualified contractors for each phase. Design considerations were almost always determined after Laurie provided three or more alternatives. How refreshing not to be overwhelmed with too many choices. Construction was completed with little variance from schedule, and when problems arose, as they always do, Laurie was able to solve them with little fanfare. > Once construction was completed, we also enlisted Laurie’s assistance in accessorizing our home. Along with her associate Suzanne, they provided that professional eye that really put the finishing touches on our project. > The end result of Laurie’s and Suzanne’s efforts exceeded our expectations. We started off with the desire to create interior spaces that complemented the décor of our recently completed back yard living area, and we could not be happier with the final product. As with all complex projects, things did not go exactly as planned. Some of the problems were surprises that were discovered along the way. Others were minor mistakes that were made. This was not unexpected. In all cases, once the problem was discovered Laurie was quick to work with us and the contractors to resolve the issue. The problems were addressed quickly and the timeline adjusted as needed. For anyone thinking of remodeling, this should be an important consideration. In any big project, there will always be surprises. Laurie did an excellent job addressing them. > > We are extremely pleased with the results. The vanity was custom made, and yes, the vertical pullouts are similar to spice racks. Great storage for small bottles and items that are easy to see and would get lost in a drawer. **Q: name color and size of bath tile** *(in Photo Questions)* what is the name, color and size of bath tile A: The small mesh tile on shower floor, backsplash and tub wall was a 1 x 1 glossy tile from The Tile Shop. Floor in main bath was an 18 x 18 Anne Selkie Ikat tile also from the Tile Shop. The glass tile in the shower stall was 2 different shades of blue glass in a 2 x 8 glass from Tile Shop. The 2 x 2 matte white mesh porcelain tile was used on the shower wall and tub alcove insert -- also from the Tile Shop. **Q: can I buy this double vanity;just the cabinet primed?** *(in Photo Questions)* If so, cost & where /how to order ?
