**Q: Too Pretty for Outdoors....** *(in Product Questions)*

....so I want mine inside! So! 2 questions: can I use ANY AAA battery, or, only the rechargeable one it comes with, and secondly, can I remove the solar charger from the lantern so I can charge it outside during cold weather? The idea is to come home from work, get the charger from the balcony, and install it back inside the lantern where it will hang above my desk!

A: Hi Rose!  Sorry I didn't see your question sooner. Allsop Home & garden always offers the caveat that there are no guarantees that the solar panel will successfully charge through a window. With that said, MANY customers have had great success with lanterns hung in Southern exposed windows. Allsop, Inc. is headquartered in the Pacific Northwest, so we are very familiar with the cloudy/rainy days. The solar lantern still receive enough sunlight through the clouds to successfully charge and glow at night! The bigger challenge you may experience with your lantern glowing, is competing light from the room it's in not allowing the sensor in the solar panel to trigger the lantern to glow. The sensor, in the solar panel, will automatically turn the lantern on and off with the change in natural light.   Hopefully some of your questions have been answered! **Q: Do you have to use the solar power to charge the battery?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I've found with other solar outdoor lights, the solar charger doesn't work very well. Can I just charge these with a battery charger or do I have to use the solar panel?

A: Hi Lucinda, 
Thank you for reaching out about this issue. Have you tried to move your lanterns into a different location that gets more sun? We recommend having the solar units face directly towards the sun in order for the solar panel to recieve the best charge. I have my personal lanterns at home in a tree with no leaves and it seems they are getting enough sun to fully charge the battery and cast a strong glow at night so it makes me wonder if your lanterns arent charging adequately due to the location they were placed. 
To answer your question about a battery charger, yes and no. Since our lanterns use rechargeable batteries, techniquely you could charge the batteries in a battery charger, HOWEVER that would require you to take out the batteries from the solar unit every time you want to do that. 
I would first recommend moving your lanterns to a place that is getting more sun and if that doesnt work, depending on how long you have had your lanterns for, I would look into either new batteries and/or new solar units. **Q: What type of batteries does these lights take?** *(in Product Questions)*

A: Hi Patti! Thank you for your inquiry and our apologies for the late response. As the HOUZZ pro shared, these are solar powered sting lights. They come pre-equipped with a replaceable, rechargeable AA battery. The sunlight charges the battery daily and the built in solar sensor will automatically turn the string lights on and off, with the sunset and rise. You can expect the the glow time to be equivalent to the charge time. So, if the solar panel for the string lights receives 6 hours of direct charging light, you can expect 6+ hours of glow time! All of our Solar lanterns have a rechargeable battery inside the solar unit which is charged via the sun in order to illuminate at night.

QUESTIONS:
what is the space between each light? how long is the light string? do they just burn at night, would these hang on a 3 ft. tall gold metal tree? should I choose another style to work on my tree?  Thank you for your answers.

A: Hi Sherrigiles, There is 24 inches between each of the shades; each shade is 2"x2.5". There are 10 Nylon Lanterns on each strand. There's 15 feet between the solar panel and the first light...the total strands length is 33 feet. It should more than cover a 3 foot tree. This string light is solar powered. The solar housing component receives it's charge during the day and the light sensor automatically triggers the lights to glow and night. It will also automatically turn of the lights, when it losings the charge or daylight triggers it to do so. I hope this answered your questions! Thank you for your interest in our product!
