Jolynn brings to her client's projects a rounded wealth of expertise in the fabric arts, including design, construction and manufacturing combined. After completing studies in tailoring and dressmaking at Canada’s prestigious Northern Alberta Institute of Technology, Jolynn continued her education at the University of Alberta, mastering the art of using fabric color, texture, weight, and characteristics to transform light and space. 

Finding unique expression for her superlative skills, Jolynn worked in costume and theatre design for more than ten years. She has been employed by the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, the Banff School of Fine Arts, the Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, and the Niagara-on-the-Lake Shaw Festival. Locally, she has done work for The San Francisco Ballet and the Oberlin Dance Company.

> we needed to dress a large window in the living room. after almost one year of using Jolynn's custom made Roman shades I can say it is excellent quality. the mechanism works perfectly. we open and close these shades everyday. > After installing new windows for my entire house,  I needed draperies for the living rooms, shutters for the kitchen, and shades for the bedrooms.  I contacted several drapery and shutter companies.  I used Drapery Works for these reasons: The owner, Jolynn Rodriguez, was personable and lively, both on the phone and when she came to visit.  I liked her immediately. I was in a fog as to what kinds of window coverings I wanted, and Jolynn steered me in the right direction. Without her expertise, I would have chosen the wrong thing. Her method was different than many others. Instead of waiting a few days for the estimate, she hammered out the estimate immediately on site. She was super efficient. The workers she had who installed the drapes and shutters were both amazing as well. They were neat, easy to talk to, and  kept everything clean. They arrived on time and called to verify. Jolynn got back to me quickly throughout the process. I am more than happy with my draperies and shutters.  More than happy!  They have transformed the house.  I never realized what a difference they would make!!!

> After moving into a new condo, we were inundated with a lot of work and decisions.  We had Jolynn come to our new place to help provide some design expertise/advise on blinds and drapes.  She made the process so easy (especially for a couple who had decision fatigue!), and worked with us find the best solution for our budget.  She was able to quickly asses how we could bring in the most natural lighting while still providing an adequate amount of privacy to our unit, which was very important to us.  Jolynn had a wonderful selection of drapes and blinds, and helped to walk us through the entire process without feeling overwhelmed.  The installers were also very good, always on time and ensured all questions were addressed before leaving.  We had a small issue with one blind that wasn't able to open and close correctly, and this was swiftly addressed, we were not left high and dry.  Jolynn followed up with us to make sure the drapes and blinds were working to our expectations.  This was definitely the easiest, and most enjoyable process of our new home experience, I only wish we had more windows in our home to cover!  We will definitely work with Jolynn again in our next home and have already recommended her to friends and family who are in the market for window coverings.
