My wife and I were instantly comfortable with Gary Duncan and his personality. Needless to say to signed a contract to have Gary Duncan and Sentinel Builders build out custom Home and the outcome was more pleasing than we could have imagined. > Gary is not arrogant but he is humble, professional, confident, capable, interested, straight forward, honest, and it is very evident that he cares about all the little details. > Gary also has an overwhelming desire to please the customer which translates to items being done correctly the first time. This is construction so things do not always go perfectly but you can relax knowing that Gary Duncan will not hesitate to fix it. Most likely, Gary has already found an issue and either resolved it before you even knew it or has the fixed scheduled. > Gary Duncan is on the job site frequently if not daily and was available for questions either on the job site or by phone throughout the entire day (days and evenings) and weekends. > The service and high quality didn't end with the closing. It continues to this day. If I have a concern or question, Gary is there to help even when he has no obligation to do so. > As for construction time, Gary gave a estimation was direct and honest throughout, always informing us of any possible delays including uncontrollable weather. The House was complete and we closed on the estimated schedule. > Many of the other builders that we interviewed seemed to want to build the house to "their" desire and not the customers. Gary Duncan wanted to build the house that the customer wanted. He made recommendations throughout the process but it was always the customers decision. Gary Duncan also didn't shy away from saying what was good, bad, could be better, could save cost, and what was and was not needed. > When it was time for choosing interior everything including but not limited to trim style, wall colors, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures and layout, door swings, outlet and switch placement, flooring (wood/tile/carpet) cabinets and tops, etc. Gary has fantastic system in place which included full and complete access to a TRUE on site always present interior designer (Cindy Hamby). Cindy was wonderful and so patient. She would go with us to the many stores and dealers and help us pick the perfect design, the perfect color, and the perfect choice. Cindy was a true blessing which made the enormous task of picking absolutely everything seem enjoyable and much less stressful. You can't put a price on that level of provided/included service and we used Cindy for almost everything. > In regards to cost. Sentinel builders built the exact house that was discussed and did so at the exact original estimate. Gary Duncan's budget was not over inflated and unexplainable, as was the case of the multiple other builders interviewed. > Gary Duncan provided a lengthy list of references and since he also develops neighborhoods such as Copperstone, it was easy to see his work in all stages of progress and observe his attention to detail and quality work. > Gary Duncan's employees are polite, extremely professional, and very pleasant to be around. They work to please the customer as much as Gary Duncan himself (thanks Little Gary and Mike). Gary Duncan's employees are also very happy with their boss and work to please him as well. Gary Duncan treats his employees better than any other employer I have seen and it shows. He takes care of them, they take care of him and so on. > I could go on but what needs to be said has been. Find out for yourself and you will not regret the decision. It would be difficult to find a custom home customer who is not pleased with their choice to use Gary Duncan and Sentinel Builders. What is the source of the cabinet pulls and knobs? A: Thank you! It's one of our favorites as well. The hardware is part of the Allison Collection from Amerock. All of the fixtures in this home were provided by American Lighting of Knoxville, TN.
