Marc carefully reviewed our design considerations, and briefed us on his unique process that takes into account the site location, architectural design, and how the space is intended to be used and lived-in. Marc was able to swiftly visit our lot and begin the initial design planning. In a second stage, we were able to visit with Marc to work on real-time design iterations to lock-in a final design. Overall, we were very impressed with how slick his process was, and how quickly he was able to finalize our design. Moving our design through our HOA proved to be a challenge, but Marc’s experience with negotiating with HOA boards and architectural committees turned out to be a huge advantage, and after working closely with us on some redesigns, we were able to receive HOA approvals to build. > > Marc is unlikely to be your cheapest option when selecting an architect, but “you get what you pay for”. The choice of architect is absolutely critical to any design and construction process, and is probably the last place to begin considering budget reductions. Moreover, arriving at the final design is only the first stage, because after finalizing any design, complex structural and engineering design work needs to follow. Here again is a reason not to cut corners. In fact, our builder mentioned that Marc’s engineering drawings and schematics were the best he’d ever seen in all his decades of being in the construction business.
