> If you want a construction experience that is as straight forward and uncomplicated as it can possibly be, choose the TQ team!
>
> TQ Construction truly cares about their clients and helping them achieve their goals for their home. The TQ team did my whole home renovation and their Envision, Design, and Build process meant that I was guided and assisted from the time of the first quote to the end of the build and throughout the 2 years of warranty coverage.
>
> I originally chose TQ because they were the only renovation company that I felt comfortable with from the original quote. They never said “no” and instead explained why something might not be achievable and presented alternatives. I also felt comfortable that through construction their team would be considerate of my neighbours, with whom I have good, long-standing relationships. This is why I selected them as my renovation contractor.
>
> During the design phase, I was guided through choosing the finishes that would achieve the look I wanted within my budget. I was also shown 3D renderings for key spaces that ensured I was comfortable with what the final result would be. Their design process got me excited and looking forward to the end result.
>
> Throughout construction, the Site Supervisor and the team in the office were there to support me when issues and problems arose, guiding me through to achieving a beautifully renovated home that continues to be the space I always wanted and a space that everyone who visits admires. Throughout the construction phase my neighbours regularly told me that the construction team was both friendly and respectful, proving my initial instinct to be true.
>
> TQ is still top of mind for me today, when I consider any construction project. They are the only team I would recommend and go to for work on my home!

**Comment from TQ Construction:**

> Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review. Your kind words truly made our day! It was such a pleasure working with you on your project. We're delighted how you’re so happy with the results!
>
> We strive to make every experience a positive one. Our TQ Team appreciates your recognition of our solutions-focused attitude, hard work, dedication and professionalism. Thank you once again for your trust and support :)

> TQ Construction are great communicators! Thank you so much for answering my questions regarding one of your projects in Burnaby and helping me get in touch with the owner. I went and saw your work. The client is very satisfied and highly recommends all that you did. I also learned a lot and will bring these tips into my future projects.

**Comment from TQ Construction:**

> Thank-you Michelle! It was serendipitous to watch your initial query from the Kootenays turn into a live product clinic and review at our client's house in Burnaby! We hope your new motorized garage-style door adds innovation, style and function to your home! Stay in touch!

> The design/build approach is an option that eliminates personal project management while maintaining control of the project and budget. Working with TQ has proved to be successful in that their team is professional, knowledgeable, skilled and creative resulting in an impressive end product.

**★★★★ — sandydl, Jan. 2016**

> We chose TQ Construction to renovate our kitchen, dining area and living room, in our never-before-reno’d home in the Tri Cities. Through due diligence we entertained ideas and quotes from other companies, but only TQ gave us a plan with vision—one that truly excited us about moving forward with renovation. We wanted something new that would stand the test of time, staying current for years to come. We got it!!!
> Now, two and a two and half years later we still absolutely love our new home. We’ve even had friends opt to buy older homes with an eye to doing something similar based on our project, and we always suggest they give TQ a call. I’ve come to learn a successful reno project is all about having the right team. TQ’s advice was sound and they are completely committed to satisfying their customers’ expectations.
> The work provided by their expert designer was one of the best investments we made. She got to know us and learned how we lived in our home and what ideas and features were most important to us. She introduced ideas we would never have thought of, and she made suggestions that reflected our needs. Together we worked on building something that was perfect for us. Ultimately the design we settled on took into account our desire to ‘bring the outside in’ by dropping windows to counterheight, and raising them to the ceiling. Added French doors with a custom large window over top created full views of the peaceful forest and gardens that our home backs onto. Ultimately we got a layout we would never have thought of, yet one which we fell in love with! Even now, 2 years later, the excitement has not quite worn off, and friends who saw the ‘before’ home, (cramped, locked in, poorly lit kitchen with minimal windows) still comment on how blown away they are by the new kitchen’s beauty and functionality.
> I also have to give a nod to the various trades teams, as well as TQ’s project lead. They were really nice people and that matters to us! They were also reliable, on time and hard working, and we felt comfortable with them in our home. That was important to us. And, their workmanship impressed us—everything was done to our satisfaction or to their high standards. TQ adhered to our agreed upon timelines for the most part; one large custom window over the French doors caused a minor delay which was unexpected, but understandable.
> This was our first foray into the world of home renovations and we are so pleased to have chosen TQ. In a housing market such as Metro Vancouver’s, now more than ever, your home is the biggest investment you will ever make. Our home’s value increased substantially post renovation which is good news. But even better news—because it truly is a home to us more than an investment—our quality of life in our home has increased! TQ helped gave us an updated home that we can entertain in, and one that we love coming home to at the end of a long work day. I recommend them highly.

> Overall we were very satisfied with the experience. The quality of work and attention to detail was very good. Crew, including subtrades, were very courteous and professional. The planning and design process were very thorough and that vision carried through to the end of the project. Very minimal change orders as everything was anticipated. Likely under budget and right on schedule which is fantastic. Henri did a great job coordinating and he has a great manner dealing with people and trades.

**★★★★ — Natalie Moreno, Nov. 2015**

> We enjoyed working with TQ Construction on the construction of our new deck and backyard. We had specific sustainability requirements and TQ was able to meet these requirements and complete the job on time. We encountered a few challenges but TQ had a process to resolve the issues, which we did amicably.

**★★★★★ — doug\_mcrory, Nov. 2015**

> They created a design plan that kept our older homes character and integrity yet gave it a new updated look, especially the kitchen (which I absolutely love!). They opened up closed in rooms and added on 500 square feet upstairs. Renovations included a kitchen and dining room area, 2 new staircases a new master bedroom and bathroom, also enlarged the front entrance and added on a front porch changing placement of stairs. The TQ workers were excellent, and very hard working, quality of work is a very important factor in this company. Supervisor was always giving me updates very good to work with. The renovation was finished close to the time frame discussed and on budget. The company provides a detailed budget and weekly invoicing. We strongly recommend this company and would work with them again.

**★★★★ — fhmjones, Oct. 2015**

> This was a relatively small job but with several unrelated pieces. TQ helped us sort out priorities both in terms of budget and other priorities. There was a very small bathroom removal/replacement, some damaged drywall repair in different parts of the house, renovation of doors and door frames, and a few small outside repairs we couldn't do ourselves. Our only minor annoyance is that the designers often try too hard to put their own spin on parts and components without taking enough time to figure out our preferences and priorities. But I guess that's part of their job.
>
> We had a large renovation done by this company in 2005 and it was nice to have an equally satisfactory experience for this set of small jobs. The work was done cheerfully and competently. We did our own painting. The flooring sub-contractor made a mistake resulting in buckled laminate. They took rather a long time to sort it out but the problem was eventually diagnosed then corrected to our satisfaction.

**★★★★★ — Flüff Designs, June 2015**

> We absolutely love working with TQ Construction. They create beautiful property that compliments our staging style. They are a positive team that are easy to work with. We can't wait to do future projects with them. We absolutely recommend them!

**★★★★★ — Martin Knowles Photo/Media, Jan. 2015**

> When TQ comes calling, we know it's going to be a sweet project to photograph! I've photographed numerous TQ projects over the last few years, including several award winners, and have been consistently impressed with the quality, attention to detail, and overall professionalism of their work. The TQ staff has been a sheer joy to collaborate with throughout the process of photography, and I hear nothing but equally good things from their clients.

**★★★★★ — johannemattie, March 2014**

> TQ Construction did a fantastic job with our kitchen renovation. Even though we didn’t have plans for major changes to the layout of our kitchen, their designer had some very simple, low cost ideas that greatly improved the functionality of our kitchen. In particular, the oversized island she suggested works very well for our family of 5 as it allows several of us to all pitch in with the cooking at once. We love it!
> The team put in lots of work planning up front and as a result, the timeline and budget estimates were very accurate. We were lucky with no unforeseen problems so in fact our project came in under budget - a nice surprise compared with some of the reno horror stories I have heard. Throughout the project, communication with the project foreman was great, and the workers were very tidy. I would highly recommend the TQ crew!

**★★★★ — bernicecorinne, Dec. 2013**

> TQ Construction completed a plus $800,000 renovation on our house that involved removing approximately one-third of the perimeter walls and windows and extending portions of the residence to create a uniform Nana Wall exterior that opened on to a flush refurbished concrete deck. The deck was tiled with granite and enclosed with modern glass panel railings. The interiors for the areas opened up were extensively renovated, with new hardwood flooring, fireplaces, crowns, lighting and sky lights. TQ also completed a partial renovation of the master bathroom and deck and deck access off the kitchen.
>
> The results are generally excellent, with the prospect from all rooms greatly improved and the flow of the floor plan significantly enhanced. The quality of the workmanship was generally very high with one exception involving a sub-trade (the hardwood floor installation was below prior experience and expectation). TQ have offered to re-do the floors but we have not decided whether or not to proceed with that work yet.
>
> A major strength of TQ was cost control, cost tracking and communication of change orders. As a result, the entire reno came in on budget after accounting for customer generated change orders.
>
> The TQ crew were pleasant to work with, respectful of the fact that we were living in the house for more than half the renovation process.

## Community Q&A

**Q: where is the desk in the study from?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi - where is the desk in the study from?

A: Hello. The description we have from our staging company (Fluff Designs) is "Desk - Bodhi Tango - Dark Wood". I did a quick online search using that descriptor and there are a few retailers selling this item. Thanks for your interest with our project!
