Priced out a stone covering for it at it was out of budget. Thought maybe paint it creamy white? Help! We bought the gray linen curtains you see here to blend in, but now are concerned that gray in this room will be too boring. We love the amount of natural light and are very into natural elements like reclaimed wood as you can see from our furniture and decor. During summer our accent decor is warmer - teal and orange. In fall it's burgundy, yellow and orange. We would like to keep the room bright and light. Any suggestions for wall color? We can then change our drapes to match. TIA! A: I think it is beautiful the way it is. I would not change the wall color. I would pick a stencil go to Royal Design Stencils and add some interest. A: the bookcase should be much lighter, the wall color does not feel right, maybe if you use a lighter shade of the blue of the the shower curtain on the wall and the same shade of blue for the rug. **Q: 2 colors or just 1?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I have a cute little alcove in my entry hall. I am about to paint the wall a pale blue/grey Angeles suddenly wondered if I should paint the inside of the alcove a contrasting color? Maybe a deeper blue or charcoal? Help! A: i would definitely paint the niche in another color. you want to draw attention to such a great architectural detail, find an interesting object to place inside, **Q: I AM SO UPSET!! Need advice on how to handle BAD TILE JOB** *(in Design Dilemma)* I was in my new kitchen today and noticed that the stone tiles in my backsplash felt rough. Well every single one has a layer of epoxy grout on them! every one! Oddly enough the glass mosaic tiles are ok. its just the stone ones but there are about 150 of them in total. I calmly called the contractor and told him and all he said was well that's hard to believe. I cleaned all of the tiles. Then he told me to apply a solution to each one etc. I'm afraid to ruin the tiles! Please help! He also did a terrible grout job on my beautiful porcelain floor but I can't even focus on that now because of this! Any suggestions on how to fix this? Please see pics below. Thanks!!!! A: I would try and work it out with the contractor as was suggested first, and hopefully you have not paid him the total amount. If he refuses to work with you on resolving the problem, and you have paid him, I would then contact the tech dept of the grout manufacturer. Did you buy the grout? if so go back to the tile place where you bought it and see if they can help. I would also find out which town your contractor is registered in and file a complaint with the town. I may be unpopular here but I would also get the better business involved too. **Q: Dining room decor what to put along walls?** *(in Design Dilemma)* All the furniture along the walls now is just there to fill space and not have empty white walls. What should be there? Also open to painting walls a color, adding or changing art etc. A: Built in Buffet along that wall, the radiator gives an old world feel which is why i suggested a built in. I cannot see what kind of light you have but you need one and it needs to be 30 to 34 inches above the table.
