As you can see in he pictures --- the sofa is a light grey, the anchor wall is a taupe grass cloth wallpaper and the wood floors are are a cherry color. The room gets lots of light. I am looking for an area rug to pull it all together. Looking for a contemporary feel. I have seen some rugs as much as $7500 and others as cheap as $499. Any guidance of types/styles of rugs? How much I need to spend for something that will look good and last? Color ideas? Has anyone bought a rug online from a sight like modern.com? I am happy to price anything you would like and can have it shipped direct to you:) wdbdesign@icloud.com **Q: Long Narrow Living Room** *(in Design Dilemma)* I've been looking at condos in Florida and most of the high-rises have a similar floor plan where the kitchen entrance is to your left when you walk in, then the dining area, then the living area, and then a sliding glass door at the end of the room to the balcony. The kitchen has a pass-through "window" to the dining area. My question is...how do you make these "bowling alley" type setups look inviting and intimate? Lining up furniture along the walls seems to enhance the problem to me. A: That is wonderful! Then all you need is the list of the building rules and policies regarding interior work guidelines. I know many of the ceilings are concrete between floors but you can get around issues by doing a drop ceiling areas that you would like to run electricity. **Q: kitchen backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)* Our new quartz, at the corner, comes out about 1" further than the cabinet so the tiles cannot line up with both. So should the tiles align with cabinet or with quartz? FYI you can see from the photo the height of our old tiles. We will use this height again. So if we align with the quartz the tiles will come around the cabinet by about 1". I'm not sure which will look better. A: What are your splash tiles? Do they have an edge piece? **Q: Bed Linens** *(in Design Dilemma)* Can someone tell me where I can find white bed linens with green trim. The green needs to be avacado or near in color. I have looked everywhere online. I found the prefect sheets with green pineapple trim from William Sonoma but they no longer carry them. I live on an island and have a very limited selection. I have searched all the main sites. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. A: Another great place to order linens for clients (less $$) is olliix.com:) **Q: Can a high-security fence/wall have good design?** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi, I live in São Paulo, Brazil and I am building a house. We have a solid 3 stories - modern design house in 500 m2 terrain, but we live in a region next to a dangerous community. I would like to know if it is possible to have security and design co-existing? I would love to live in a community without wall, but a couple of thieves broke in to some neighbours houses. Is it possible to have high security and design ? A: I pulled some options that may be of interest to you below. I am thinking to stay away from anything that is horizontal unless it is enclosed as not to become a ladder. I was also thinking but could not fins a picture, what about a smooth stone wall with vertical metal posts at the very top for interest. Love the idea of this being security and raised garden with seating for entertainment. Change the top slats to be vertical. I have dark cabinets in my kitchen and am trying to see what color table will look nice with these cabinets. Posting picture of kitchen cabinets and a table I saw in a few finishes. What color seems to look better? A: If I am having trouble finding a rectangle glass top table I usually order the glass from a local (to the location of my Client) glass shop and then the base from one of my furniture vendors. a dark table with your light chairs should not feel dark given that it is in a room with what looks to be lots of light with the large glass door and side window.
