Although there were some hiccups during the course of the project I found my concerns were immediately addressed by Armagan and/or Erhan. But I told myself I’m getting THREE estimates this time around so I called MK&B and got an appointment for final estimate. I was torn between redoing the kitchen or a bathroom so I got 2 estimates. John from MK&B came out and was very nice and he took a lot more measurements so more thorough. I had already emailed \#2 guy some questions after receiving his estimate (including when can you start) but he was too slow to get back with me and John beat him to the punch because the following day I had both estimates and he had answered some questions I emailed. John’s estimates was more professional with line by line items and prices. Overall had a much more professional vibe. I went to their showroom (very convenient near my office in Herndon) and picked out the cabinets, tiles, countertop, knobs etc. John would set me straight if I’m picking out something that didn’t quite go together. The workers did a great job, demo’d it all in one day and MUCH less messy than a previous reno I had done. Any questions I had were always answered promptly. I hadn’t planned on replacing the appliances but had a bit of luck in vegas so I got a new stove and microwave and there was no additional charge to install the new ones vs re-installing my old ones. I even added on a side job of replacing the ceiling lights in my foyer and hallway. Got his price to install, stopped at Home Depot on my lunch hour to buy them and dropped them by and that evening when I got home all 3 were replaced so I never have to see those generic gold uglies that came with the place. Took 9 days overall. SO worth it!! I’m absolutely in love with my kitchen!! We LOVE the kitchen. Our neighbors all love our kitchen. People walk in our house and just say "wow" when they see it. John, the project manager, and UT the crew chief were wonderful. They delivered on their promise that we would have a working kitchen in less than 3 weeks. Despite all the work being done, the only unexpected cost was a minor $300 involving a little extra plumbing. The estimates they give you are real and very reasonable. In 3 weeks we were still missing one cabinet that the manufacturer had mishandled, but we were able to use the kitchen fully. Once the last cabinet arrived John immediately had it installed and we use the extra one in our laundry room.. This did not cost us anything. (John had ordered the correct cabinet.) We got a great price for this kitchen. We ordered the appliances from Best Buy but had UT and crew install the appliances. We turned over our garage to them for the duration of the project. I still find it amazing the amount of work they did for us in 3 weeks and the reasonable cost for the work.
