> Made an inquiry by email looking for estimate costs for installing the necessary wiring to a hot tub that was recently purchased but not yet delivered. I was clear that I was just obtaining estimates at this time and that the tub would not be delivered until the end of summer. I was contacted by a polite person and was advised that they could provide the service and scheduled an appointment for a technician to access the job site and provide me with an estimate. On the day of the appointment the technician was twenty minutes late however very apologetic as he explained that he had an emergency call to attend to that put him behind schedule. The technician was very professional and seemed to be knowledgeable in accessing what the job would entail and provided me an estimate along with a bill for just over sixty dollars. Most places of business that I have dealt with in the past regarding projects such as this have never charged me a show up fee to provide an estimate nor when accepting the appointment for the technician to come out to provide an estimate was I told there would be a fee. Needless to say, I paid the fee because I failed to ask if they offer free estimates and I learned to make such inquiries when scheduling for any possible future projects. In the end I decided not to go with this company not only because of the fee charged for the estimate but because their estimated costs were over twice as much as that of a reputable competitor whom I decided to go with and is up front on all costs.

> I had flickering lights and power going on and off in my Des Moines home. Creepy! It was a Sunday so I didn't know if anyone would come out. I called Mid American Energy and they said it was in the home and I needed an electrician. I called Custom Electric and the man came right out. He said no mam it's not a ghost it's a bad main breaker. Lol. He got it fixed right away and I'm so pleased. Did a great job and the fee he charged was very fair.
