There were bad smells and we unfortunately tried to fix it with bad contractors. After a new roof and 2nd floor ventilation system was installed (poorly it ended up), we ended up with mold and had to vacate for 6 months of abatement. We had run out of patience and were ready to move when, as a last ditch effort, we called J Paul Builders for a consultation. Steven came over on a Saturday morning and within 5 minutes was able to size up the situation and provide a solution that made sense. It was a little aggressive (removing the whole 2nd floor ceiling/ insulation and HVAC ductwork ) and replacing it with foam insulation and a better engineered HVAC duct design. The proposed bid was more than we expected but we could tell that J Paul Builders' professionalism, confidence and experience would get the job done. We have worked with a number of different contractors over the years but our experience with J Paul Builders and Steven was nothing short of life changing. They delivered on every promise, Steven was present daily to answer questions and explain the process. And if we had a problem with anything at all, there were no excuses- just a "we will take care of it " attitude. At the completion of the project, the smells are gone and our 2nd floor is a comfortable place to be. we feel like we have a new house! Oh- and the best part is that the project came in on time and UNDER budget!! Thank you to Steven and Jesse and everyone else involved who gave us our house back!! PS- my wife's favorite part of the process was when they built a wall ,as a first step, that separated the living space from the construction.
