Shanna Kerr treats interior design as a true art form.  Her aspiration to deliver dramatic and beautiful yet functional spaces is driven by the core belief that interior design impacts peoples’ emotions and how they experience the world even when they are not aware of it.  Her vision is to consistently deliver a unique environment for each project that excels in functionality without sacrificing the aesthetics of the space.

Originally born in Taiwan and then growing up in Australia and California, Shanna has traveled extensively infusing global culture and knowhow into her designs.  Her passion for travel, food, art, and fashion feeds her creative soul and provides inspiration on every project.

As an accomplished interior designer with over seventeen years of experience, Shanna perfected her craft working at leading firms such as Hatch Design Group, WATG, and The Getty’s Group before founding SMDA in 2005.  At each firm, she made her mark developing a specialty in designing spaces that deliver high impact and visibility in public spaces internationally on large-scale projects around the world: Europe, North and South America, the Middle East and Asia.  From large-scale custom homes to fine dining restaurants to boutique resorts, Shanna has the experience to dig into the details of each project, each clients needs and style, and then bring that project to life.

As Founder and Principal of SMDA, Shanna is a detail oriented hands-on designer that is intricately familiar with all phases of a project’s development from concept to construction.  SMDA is thoroughly infused by Shanna's bold, dynamic, and forthright nature.  With flair, she brings with her a team, work methods, and the quality standards of an international practice but delivered with a personal and boutique experience.

In addition to her considerable creative skills, this makes her a uniquely well rounded professional that commands respect from clients, architects, engineers, contractors and subcontractors alike.  Prior to starting SMDA Shanna was a leading interiors designer for the world renown resort hotel design firm WATG.  She worked on incredibly challenging projects with them both nationally and internationally.  That background and experience puts her at the top of her profession.  Shanna is smart, talented, a great team player and one of the hardest working people I know in our industry. **Q: Beautiful! Will you please share the countertop and floor materials?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I think they may be marble, but I'm hoping it us something easier to maintain.

A: Hello taylvs3...I am sorry but yes, the countertop and floor material here are both natural marble.  You usually dont have as many maintenance issues in bathrooms (vs a kitchen) since there is not much in the way of acidic items to be careful of...except for urine...that will cause etching.  Staining is also less (no wine or tomato sauce).  Good luck!

We love this look and was looking to do something very similar. These pics have not specs.

A: Hello Iam Adad...The vanities are custom so there are no specs.

How much does the master closet take to finish.

A: I am sorry, but I not sure what you mean by how much it takes to finish....And I do not have any more pictures.  This house has been sold from the original owner to another person so I no longer have access to it.

Do you know the stain color of the doors and cabinets? Cabinet maker if they aren't custom?

A: I am sorry, but the cabinets are custom and so is the stain.

A: Hello...this closet is 18' x 12'.

**Q: Love the wall color.  Would you mind sharing if you know the color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

This is such a great space.

A: Hello Gary - Thank you!!  We are very happy with how it turned out as well.  The wall color is Sherwin Williams SW7014 Eider White.  Just keep in mind that color changes a huge amount based on what is around it.  Plus photos and computers are all different so what you are seeing may not the the actual color.
