> Tanya has worked with my spouse and me multiple times and we cannot say enough positive things about our experience. Each time, Tanya has been professional, collaborative, reliable and kind. Tanya has a fabulous eye for design and will always give you her honest opinion. Whether you want to be closely involved in every design decision, or if you want to hand over all the decisions to Tanya, she will ensure your vision for your space is achieved and on the budget that works for you. Tanya has helped us make two properties we own into stunning, usable and comfortable places that we love to spend time in.

> Tanya was amazing to work with, she seamlessly narrowed down selections and provided a clear creative vision. She was collaborative and really understood our aesthetic.

**★★★★★ — William Liang, May 2021**

> It was a pleasure working with Tanya, her professionalism, genuine care for her clients and attention to details took much of the stress of designing a brand new house off our shoulders. Since my wife and I worked long, staggered hours, it was always hard to schedule an in person meeting but Tanya was always reachable through texts or phone calls and worked around our schedules so we could still make meetings work. Tanya understood my wife likes to do things on her own so she always gave us lots of personal space and only offered to join on our shopping trips if we deemed necessary, never pushing for extra hours. Tanya is the the whole package, the most amazing one there is.

> Tanya reimagined the layout of our basement to maximize the space for our family. We used to have a cramped guest room, a seldom-used playroom, and a never-used nanny kitchenette. Now we enjoy a movie/gaming lounge, craft and music space, built-in storage, an efficient laundry room, and a mudroom with an extra fridge. Thank you, Tanya!

> I had the pleasure of working with Tanya on a recent full kitchen renovation.
> What impressed me the most upon meeting her was her ability to listen and her desire to fully understand my needs both functionally and aesthetically.
> She was punctual and prompt in all of our communication, answering my many questions, and produced very detailed drawings. She was able to help me choose a wood grain finish for my cabinets when I was struggling to find the right tone, that would blend and enhance our wood floors.
> I would highly recommend Tanya to anyone looking for a relaxed (a very important quality for stressed out rennovators!!) interior designer who brings expertise and professionalism to the table while allowing the homeowners personal style to be maintained.
> Thank again Tanya

> Tanya helped design our home and our experience working with her was spectacular. She has an extraordinary ability to develop a concept and design package just right for her clients. She is one of the most efficient and organized people I have had the pleasure to work with. She took the stress out of the many decisions by developing realistic options to our style and concept while keeping an eye on budget. Tanya’s interior drawings were amazing and precise, helping to create visuals of the finished project. We are thrilled with the flow, space and brightness Tanya created for us. We have since recommended her to many people and will continue to do so without hesitation. We absolutely love our home, and thank you, Tanya, for sharing your exceptional expertise with us.

**★★★★★ — Lindsay Morphy, Nov. 2017**

> Tanya designed our new family home in Kitsilano and we could not recommend her more highly. Tanya exceeded all of our expectations at every point in this project. We felt very reassured throughout our whole project knowing that Tanya had thought about every single last detail. If we were to build another home, without hesitation we would ask Tanya to work with us again! She is thorough, organized, quick to respond and an absolute pleasure to work with.

**★★★★★ — Van Arbour Design, July 2016**

> If you are a looking for great designer, you can stop right here!
>
> We have had the pleasure of working with Tanya on many projects. In the design field, she is a stand-out, due to her professionalism and attention to detail.
>
> We have had many a conversation with Tanya regarding products, finishes and manufacturing techniques in the millwork / cabinetry industry and their potential impact in her design, prior to the completion of her drawings. This means that what is drawn is well researched and "build able" and does not require a "make it up as you go" approach to making the design meet reality. Because of this, she is respected by the trades and contractors she works with.
>
> Her ability to listen to clients' wishes and dreams, and then to incorporate all that into a workable design means you are getting a truly individualized experience, and you will be well served.

**★★★★★ — Powell Painting, Jan. 2016**

> Tanya delivers a unique package for each client, we have had the pleasure of painting many of her designs and the results are always outstanding.
>
> Her attention to detail is very obvious to trades building the home and her ability to reply quickly to last minute questions makes our job easier.
>
> She has excellent design knowledge, the ability to do extremely detailed drawings, a vast access of contacts for the best finishings and the results are stunning.
>
> Always a pleasure!!

> We hired Tanya as our interior designer for the Dunbar / King Edward new home construction, and we definitely benefited from her vision / styles / recommendation.
>
> Before the construction project begin, my wife and I have been watching a lot of HGTV shows and have gone to a lot of Open-Houses for inspiration. However, we were overloaded with design choices and option and we were having a hard time trying to convey our design idea into detail spec.
>
> We're glad we hired Tanya, because she has been very patient with us, and she was able to take our vague design taste and translated into concrete specs that the builder can follow on.
>
> Due to our busy schedule (with works and two kids), we weren't available for too many face-to-face meeting. Tanya was able to work around our schedule, and she has been in constant communication over email. I know, it's 2014 now and people are expected to be reachable over various social network tool such as Line / WhatsApp / etc... However, back in 2008, we only had email and Tanya was great in sending us the design revision via email...
>
> We are extremely happy with the end result... Sorry, this review may read like a paid-advertisement... Believe us, it's not... We hired Tanya and we are just very happy with the outcome.
>
> You can see the outcome in Tanya's profile, under King Edward Avenue (not the \#2)...
>
> We would definitely go with Tanya again for our interior design needs.

## Community Q&A

**Q: hallo, welche Wandfarbe wurde in der Küche verwendet?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Liebe Grüße Kathi

A: paint colour for drywall partitions + ceiling: Benjamin Moore OC-66 Snow White,
backsplash: pale blue glass tile that is now discontinued

**Q: where do you get the concrete effect wall? love it** *(in Photo Questions)*

We would like to have a concrete feature wall in our living room and love the brutalist effect here.

A: This particular concrete fireplace was cast in place during construction of the home. If you are looking to recreate this effect with an as-built application, there are some lovely large-scale tile products available these days. There may also be a specialty trade able to do a faux finish for you and they would just need to confirm that their product is OK for use with the heat generated around your specific firebox. Sources for both options should be available from local sources in your geographic region.

**Q: what built in appliances are on the wall?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Appears to have a double oven on the left. What built ins are on the right?

A: From left to right on that wall: double wall oven, coffee system over speed oven over microwave, 27" all-refrigerator (including drawers portion at bottom), 36" combination fridge/freezer. I wouldn't normally recommend stacking three appliances as with the coffee/oven/micro combo as shown here (not ergonomic), but the client was ok with having the microwave located at a lower level based on their needs, and it lined up with the bottom of adjacent double ovens. If you look at the other photos from this project, there is a shot where you can get a bit better visual of that.

**Q: Sizes of the island** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hi, this looks great! What's the measurements of the kitchen island?

A: I appreciate that, thank you!

**Q: can you share the dimension of kitchen island and range?** *(in Photo Questions)*

Love this kitchen design!

A: Thanks! The island is 10' long x 4'-8" wide. Most quartz composite slabs are approximately 120" to 126" long X 56" to 63" wide, so you need to check the dimensions of your selected product and design your island size accordingly if you don't want a joint anywhere on the countertop. Some products do come in 'jumbo' size if you have a particularly long island. The rangetop is an 8-burner 48" product from Wolf (model number at date of install was RT488).

**Q: Where was the headboard/bed purchased from - is it leather? Thanks** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I specified all interior finishes & fixtures used to construct the home, but was not involved in purchasing of the furnishings. They client purchased or brought items with them from their previous home and I unfortunately don't have any info on those products. This looks like something that could be custom made.
