A: That kitchen was done quite a long time ago, so, even if I was certain of the brand, I'm almost certain the particular model would not be in production anymore. Still, I'm almost sure the double wall oven was a Kitchenaid (or perhaps a Jen-Air), and the microwave would have been a Sharp or Panasonic with a 30" wide factory trim kit. I hope that helps. **Q: Did I mix these styles well or have I failed miserably?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We just moved into a new house and I am struggling with the kitchen. Part of me thinks this elegant kitchen deserves a heavy dose of my aunt's Spode blue and white China. The rest of me is an avid baker who wants all of my colorful items on display. Do I mix the two well or is it awful? If it is awful, I am open to suggestions! A: Mixing the styles is clunky. It's a personal choice, but I'd go with the colorful items and glass jars. Nice kitchen though. **Q: Placement of cabinet pulls.** *(in Appliances)* HELP, my pulls are going in today! Where should we place them? In line with the shaker panel or in the panel and bottom or top of the door? A: Neither are wrong. It's a personal decision. I'd opt for the third picture down for the pantry, and the first picture on top for the upper cabinets (It makes them look taller). **Q: Please, please help me with my kitchen cabinets alignment dilemma!!** *(in Remodeling)* We purchased kitchen cabinets and the upper cabinets do not align with the lower cabinets. Our kitchen designer told us that uppers and lowers are not usually aligned but the placement of the microwave cabinet looks funky to me. I think if the microwave cabinet was centered in the middle where the lower middle cabinets are placed that it would look nicer. Am I wrong?? Also, do you find it odd that the dishwasher is placed partially under the window? What do I do now? Any options to fix this? Thank you in advance!!!! A: @geoffrey\_b "The worst possible place for a microwave is over the range." I disagree completely. Although not optimal (a good quality dedicated hood-fan will tend to provide superior performance), often in a kitchen with a lot of windows, or not much wall space, the best, and most logical place to put the microwave ( a dedicated OTR microwave, of course) is over the range or cook-top. Use a 6" vent pipe, a 300CFM convection OTR microwave, and recommend an induction range, and the client will have an excellent cooking experience. The worst place for a microwave IMO is in a base cabinet. As for this problem; lets see the other wall(s). Maybe there are cabinets that can be swapped with each other to create more balance. If the cabinets have not been built yet, stop the order and demand a redesign (center the sink under the window). Are you putting in an island? If so...you won;t notice the asymmetry wrt the microwave and base cabinets that much. Delicately though, I'd question your kitchen designer's choices/credentials. Hardware store kitchen designers aren't really kitchen design professionals. **Q: Where is the backsplash from?** *(in Photo Questions)* A: I purchased it through my local supplier (Tiletown in Victoria BC). Unfortunately I don't remember the specific brand or description. **Q: Space** *(in Photo Questions)* What is the space roughly between the cooktop and wall ovens A: Roughly 21".
