### Reviews

**★★★★★ — Susan Askinazy, Nov. 2021**

> TJ and the entire team at Hierarchy were a dream to work with. They designed, created plans for, handled permits for, and helped us implement a major interior full- home renovation. They were knowledgeable, professional, timely, responsive, and were able to create great solutions to some issues that we faced along the way. We were so pleased that we are also using them now for the second phase of our renovation, which is the exterior. Cannot say enough positive things about this firm, and would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone.

**★★★★★ — Greg Torborg, Nov. 2021**

> TJ and his Hierarchy team are simply fantastic. Hierarchy's professionalism, thoroughness and willingness to go above and beyond underscore a commitment to reaching and exceeding its clients goals and dreams. Thank you for all you do!

**★★★★★ — grahamlaine, Jan. 2021**

> We hired TJ and his team for an extensive renovation of our home, where we built a large addition and redesigned the entire layout of the basement, first and second floors. As first time home owners, we had no idea what to expect, but much of our anxiety was alleviated knowing that TJ and his expert team were guiding us through the process. From the initial sketches to the finishing details, I can attest to TJ's patience, creativity and resourcefulness, as he was able to provide practical solutions to the many challenges we faced updating our one hundred year old home, without sacrificing its original charm. I highly recommend Hierarchy Architecture for your next project!

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank you for this wonderful review Graham! We love the challenge of restoring and updating older homes while staying true to the original design. We were very pleased with how your project turned out as well!

**★★★★★ — OGÁN DECOR, Jan. 2021**

> I worked with TJ on a large renovation project which included reconfiguring an entire first floor and basement as well as changing the facade of the house to open up the front and bring a modern touch to an old structure. TJ and his team member William did not disappoint. Not only the design was beautiful and met all expectations but TJ was responsive to phone calls and always on time for sight visits. TJ is talented and professional, has a very refine taste and is attuned to the needs and wants of his clients.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank You Tania, it was a pleasure working with you and your family.

**★★★★★ — HU-550993485, Dec. 2020**

> We hired TJ to help us with drawing plans to extend our family room and build a master bedroom on the first floor, as well as improve the flow of the house and improve access to the backyard. TJ and his team were very responsive, very creative, thorough and familiar with the pertinent codes and regulations in our neighborhood. They proposed multiple plans and options, and even broke it down in phases , to enable us to decide how much, how little to do. TJ also has great working relationships with local contractors with is a huge plus. I highly recommend Hierarchy Architecture & Design PPLC.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank you so much for your kind words! We always strive to be flexible and offer our clients multiple solutions to best cater to their needs. We hope you continue to enjoy your new home for many years!

**★★★★★ — Arthur Samandar, Dec. 2020**

> TJ and William from Hierarchy are now family. I have worked on 2 projects with Hierarchy and can attest to the quality, support and guidance this company provides. Current project is a monster in Old Westbury, NY and I am very happy with results. These guys are PROS!

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Arthur, our team was incredibly excited that we were able to work together with you on your second project after the success of the first one. It's always a pleasure to work with you and we hope to cross paths again in the future. Wishing you all the best!

**★★★★★ — HU-955650289, Dec. 2020**

> We worked with J.J. Costello and staff at Hierarchy through most of 2019 to decide what to do with a screened porch that either needed to be rebuilt as is or, more likely, replaced by a newly enclosed new room off our living room. The entire project, from start to finish, was fantastic. Hierarchy was able to tactfully steer us clear of my unprofessional suggestions, developed plans for a beautiful hip roof addition with a vaulted ceiling inside, and coordinated perfectly with our contractor. The result is a fantastic new room in which we’re spending many pandemic hours. Once COVID is behind us, we’ll be picking up a second project with Hierarchy on the redesign of a bathroom.
>
> We’ve heard horror stories of architect/contractor experience; ours is clearly not one of them. We would recommend T.J. and Hierarchy to anyone.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank you for this wonderful review! We are glad you are getting lots of use and enjoying the new room addition. We look forward to working with you on subsequent projects!

**★★★★★ — Tracy Chu, Dec. 2020**

> Love working with Hierarchy! The design of our home is beautiful and unique. We love how it transformed. Everyone is very nice and easy to work with. Will hold your hand through the process if need be. Our journey has not ended as we will continue to work with them on future projects!

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Tracy, we appreciate you taking the time to give us this generous review. It truly touches our hearts when our clients recognize our hard work. It would be an honor to be a part of you journey and continue working with you in the future!

**★★★★★ — HU-27712769, Dec. 2020**

> We used Hierarchy Architecture + Designs, PLLC to convert a retail space into a medical office. With TJ’s wealth of knowledge, the process was smooth, and obtaining permits was a breeze. Most importantly, he listened and brought my vision to life. I highly recommend this firm.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank you for the kind words! Listening to our clients and making sure the whole process runs smoothly are key focus areas for our team and things we take great pride in! We hope you continue to love the results!

**★★★★★ — HU-103358480, Dec. 2020**

> After searching for months for an architect with recommendations from contractors, friends and family for our renovation we decided on Hierarchy for their professionalism, vision, quick response and more importantly receptiveness to our culture and belief. I’m a strong believer in feng shui and TJ was very receptive to that and worked with me in incorporating it into our plans. Give Hierarchy a call you won’t regret it.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank you for this glowing review! Being flexible with our clients' wants and needs is of utmost importance as this is how we ensure that the end result is something they will truly fall in love with. We hope you love your new home!

**★★★★★ — Rita Eredics, Dec. 2020**

> TJ listens carefully, thinks comprehensively, decides wisely, and keeps all people involved fully informed. He helps all involved make delicate decisions and he carefully considers the options and the costs. TJ has superb leadership skills in addressing a group of people that may have different priorities but a common goal. He clearly and succinctly describes what has to be accomplished and elicits comments and suggestions and, where needed, makes appropriate responses.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Rita, thank you for this wonderful review! Our team can't stress enough what a pleasure it was to work with you on your project!

**★★★★★ — Caryn Sawyer, Dec. 2020**

> We highly recommend Hierarchy Architecture. TJ and and his associates (we love Susan Frooks!!) are professional, creative architects and very easy to work with. We completed a kitchen renovation with TJ and Susan last year and were very happy with every phase of the project. They were wonderful and accomodating when we changed our mind about the design several times, and saw the project through to completion. We are now working on our second project with Hierarchy, which entails building a den and upper story addition. We continue to be thrilled with the service that we receive.

**Comment from Hierarchy Architecture + Design, PLLC:**

> Thank you Caryn! It is always rewarding when a past client comes back to work with us again. We hope you are thrilled with the end result of your new addition!

The existing rooms at the front of the house were cloistered off with solid load-bearing plaster walls from 1940's and meaning only rear-facing rooms had views of the park. To solve this, we created axial cased opening's between the rooms creating viewing opportunities from the front room. Additionally this helped improve the circulation flow of the home.
