> My sister and I recently purchased a new home in Indian River Colony Club (IRCC) and immediately realized that the kitchen was small, outdated and needed an infusion of creativity. We met with Alicia of Phillips Development & Design and were pleased with her enthusiasm and professionalism. She came up with a workable, attractive kitchen design within our budget. We signed contracts this week and we are looking forward to seeing the design come to life.

> More to come as we progress with Phillips. So far, so good!

> I met with Alicia to help us come up with a kitchen design and to assist us through the renovation work with her expertise. We told her up front that we wished to do a lot of the demo and grunt work ourselves and would only want to hire her to act as design consultant and to assist in hiring contractors, pulling permits and using her connections for work which was beyond our abilities. She was very pleasant and professional, and worked up a lovely design which we were tickled with. We met with her twice, and on our last meeting, she asked us to pick out our appliances so the cabinets could be measured exactly for the next step in our remodeling project. We worked on this process while away on vacation over the next few days and we called her the following Monday. I received her voice mail and left a message that we had picked out our appliances so we give her our measurements. No return call. I sent her an email through houzz.com with the same information. No return call. I waited two weeks, to see how long it might take her to phone me back. No return call. I called her again and left another voice mail, this one expressing my concern about "no call back." No return call. Needless to say, I believe that we as the consumer, have been "dumped." Regardless of the real reason we have never heard from her again, (and now it has been several months), we feel it is because we were not worth her time. A true professional would have expressed this in a polite manner on our first meeting and not led us to believe we would be entering into a professional relationship. I am sad to say that I cannot recommend Phillips Development & Design for any reason whatsoever.

> I was extremely happy with the experience and results I had with Phillips Design. I specifically worked with Alicia and Jacqui and they were amazing. My house felt depressing to me before they transformed my living room and worked within my budget to create an entirely different space full of beauty and texture yet still comfortable and practical for my family of five. Now I feel happy every time I look at this space and we are all enjoying it, even my husband! Alicia and Jacqui were able to create something perfect for my style even when I could barely describe my preferences. They were very professional and efficient and always went above and beyond my expectations. I would love to hire Phillips Development and Design for a complete home renovation one day!

> Alicia and Tim gave us a dream come true home! They are excellent, efficient, and a very professional company. They re-did our entire kitchen and helped us update our home. We are defiantly using them again for future projects. They are very creative and made our 1975 home look like a model home on TV we could not be more thrilled with the job they did and look forward to our next project together.

> Phillips Developement and Design redesigned my kitchen after several other companies had given me lackluster designs. They blew me away by incorporating my style and all of my needs. Their 3d drawings helped me visualize the wonderful design and allowed me to make this big decision easily. The work was done professionally and completed on schedule. I couldnt be happier with the results. Next year they will do my master bath.

> PDD designed my master bedroom, it took less time than we expected and turned out great. We will use them again.

**★★★★★ — jacknjacq, Nov. 2013**

> PDD designed my new kitchen for me, it completely updated the flow of our home form a compartmentalized distribution to a true open floor plan. Our home is on the Indian River and the view from our kitchen to the water was blocked, Alicia removed the wall and designed a triple level Island that is perfect for entertaining or just watching the sunset over the water. I could not have been more happy with the quality of materials they used or the work itself, everyone was professional and courteous. I highly recommend them. As a matter of fact they are coming out to give us an estimate on updating our bathrooms.

> There are good experiences and there are not so good experiences. The latter was the case then I hired Phillips Development and Design. If you don't mind having your Interior Designer recommend fixing a new delivered broken sofa with wood glue and bolts or if you don't mind being asked to live with a silver blue sofa instead of a beige one you thought you were getting or having your dining table propped against the wall for about a month because it too was delivered broken, ( think cheap quality) if you don't mind your price being raised due to inept accounting or paying for an accessories budget with PDD refusing to give an accounting of how it was spent and if you can't live with any piece be prepared to pay 50% of the cost for the privilege to rerun it, then this is the company for you. At the end of the day they agreed to take back the silver blue sofa and charged 100% of the shipping and setup even on items cancelled. My happiest moment was when I signed the check for the final obscene payment to finally be rid of them. Beware my friend and choose your designer carefully.

**Comment from Phillips Development & Design Llc:**

> This Client was referred to us by her Daughter, who not only hired us once, but twice. Every design is a personal process; a lot goes into getting the pieces of the puzzle to fit. On occasion a piece may come in with the wrong fabric, sometimes its the Designers error, in this case it was the manufacturers error.
> The piece was still a stunningly gorgeous sectional, in a beautiful blue grey hue, (very today in color and style) we all loved it. We all decided, that before we contacted the manufacturer to let them know the color of the fabric was not the specified color, we wanted to see if it could turn out to be a serendipitous mistake. The option to replace the sectional was always available to Ms Copeland at no extra cost to her, only the inconvenience of extra time.
> An appointment was made for later that week to go over any changes and or concerns, whether the sectional would stay and the new hue would be incorporated in to the color pallet or if we were to replace it with the original color. At that meeting we presented the new pallet option and the manner in which we could incorporate the new color if she wanted. Ms Copeland preferred the original pallet, so we explained that we would have to contact the manufacturer in the morning and the process for replacement would begin. Before we could get the details for the exchange we received a scathing email from Ms Copeland with her complaint, and immediately we tried to contact her. Ms. Copeland would not take any of our calls and still will not.
> Ms Copeland then requested, via email, that we cancel, all the remaining undelivered items that had been scheduled. A cancellation that added up to more than half of the original order, including custom pieces. Custom pieces are non returnable and non refundable, we go over the details very carefully with our clients, so as not to make any wrong decisions and explain very carefully the terms of these particular orders.
> We attempted to speak to her again, to no avail and still determined to rectify Ms Copelands distress, we cancelled all of them at no cost to her and absorbed all of the costs involved.
> Then, several days later, she informed us via email, that she would be returning some of the custom ordered pieces that had already been delivered and were for other rooms in the house. The only communication she provided us was through very curt emails and she still refused to speak to us or discuss the matter.
> In an effort to satisfy Ms. Copeland we returned them and refunded her, less a small restocking fee and the shipping cost on those items. We again absorbed all the extra cost involved.
> The Dinning room table base had sustained a minor damage during the delivery, and we immediately re ordered an expedited new base for her, hence the delay in her table. The base was exchanged within 4 weeks at no cost to her.
> All matters were taken care of promptly and no items remain outstanding.
> Without discussion there can never be resolution.
> It is our great regret, that we were not allowed to express to Ms Copeland our sincere desire to rectify any concerns she had and give her the room we designed, a room that she fell in love with.
> (Attached is a picture of the actual color of the blue grey sectional)

**★★★★★ — Jillian Ortiz, July 2013**

> Had our living/family room decorated this year by Jacqueline, we couldn't be happier. They were professional, patient, stuck to our budget, and most of all accomplished all of our space needs. The furniture, colors and accessories she picked for us are all beautiful and of great quality. The room looks like it could be in a magazine or even on HOUZZ! I highly recommend there services to everyone.
