I'm a Home Design& Renovation Coach and Consultant in love with the work I do. Part teacher, part designer, often part therapist, I am passionate about empowering homeowners to take charge of their home renovation projects with purpose and confidence. I am also a licensed real estate broker in both Albuquerque, New Mexico and Portland, Oregon metros.

As a Home Renovation Coach, I hold workshops that teach people how to get started on their building projects, how to navigate the complicated design/build processes, and how to connect with professionals and assemble teams that work for the best interests of the homeowners. 

As a Design Consultant, I help homeowners clearly define their scope of work, create strategies for both short-term and long-term goals, decide on their home's many surfaces and fixtures while being mindful of their individual budget constraints, lifestyles, and objectives. I am a liaison for clients as they choose vendors, products, and building professionals. My goal is for my clients to be happy at the end of their projects because they feel like they were taught enough to make decisions that were right for them.

My ability to visualize, coupled with my almost 20 years experience as a contractor and designer, provide valuable insight as I teach homeowners about the construction process/sequence and guide them through the often daunting task of choosing affordable, practical, beautiful, and timeless materials. My style is unique, but my environment, clients, and nature itself are what inspire my work.

> Camian has always been great to work with. I have used her services several times on remodel jobs in my restaurants. Those experiences led me to using her to pick the colors for the interior of my house. Those choices were spot on. What particularly amazed me was paying attention to what direction the light was coming in from our windows, i.e. cool light from the north meaning paint colors needed to be from a cooler palette and warmer light from the south meaning warmer colors needed to be picked. Since we were going with shades of grey throughout the house it really made a difference in the larger rooms. We have 3 different shades of grey that all work together very well and you wouldn't know they were from different parts of the color spectrum. I highly recommend Camian for your projects!

> We had many projects to complete to turn the house we bought into our own, including new lighting throughout, a minor bathroom remodel, new kitchen appliances and back-splash, and new flooring throughout.  We are very pleased with the results.  Camian was very helpful keeping an overall design perspective to the project, as well as ensuring we stayed within our budget and the contractors on time.  We greatly appreciated having a designer support the remodel efforts, keeping it cohesive while maintaining our style and incorporating our input.  We were particularly impressed with her ability to look at our kitchen counter-tops and pull the colors into the new back-splash design without taking a piece of counter with us to the tile store.

> My husband and I hired Camian to design our master bathroom remodel. From the first moment she arrived at our home, Camian gave it her all to give us what we wanted. Even before we hired her, she stayed for a couple hours talking with us about the possibilities and, more importantly, listening to us about what we wanted. She quickly honed in on our vision for a Zen-like master bedroom retreat and never strayed from the simplicity that we wanted.

> We had a lot of wasted space in our former bathroom and closet area, so the remodel was extensive. Walls were ripped out, the space was completely reorganized, a window was added for natural light. Two other designers that we interviewed said what we wanted couldn't be done, but Camian managed to give us nearly everything we wanted, while staying within our budget.

> She also came up with great details that we didn't even think of. For example, she designed a shelves just for a vase collection that I wanted to display. She made sure we had cell phone plugs in the closet. She helped us figure out how to get a Zen look, without spending big bucks for custom-designed pieces. One example, was building the cabinets so they had a bamboo look without having to order real bamboo cabinets from outside our state.

> Working with her was also great when it came time for budgeting. She is a very clear communicator, listening to our needs and wants, but then letting us know that if we did such and such, the cost would be X, but if we did something slightly different, we could reduce the cost to Y. The whole remodel was presented in choices and Camian guided us through them very efficiently. This made the whole process extremely satisfying because she helped us save in areas we didn't feel strongly about, while making the most of the must-haves we wanted. For example, we saved on our new closet by going with off the shelf cabinets and shelves, but I got the glassed in shower and beautiful tub that I wanted.

> By about halfway through the project, we trusted Camian completely. She made sure the job was done right. I am a pretty picky person and the tiling was exquisite with all the corners matching just so. If it wasn't done right the first time, Camian made sure the construction guys re-did it. This didn't happen often, but a couple times it did and I was appreciative of her wanting only the best for our bathroom. Also, when it came time to pick paint colors, I was completely crunched for time due to my own busy schedule and my delays in getting back to Camian in a reasonable time. I chose the colors in about 15 minutes and then told Camian that if I had chosen wrong to just make sure it looked good. I don't know to this day whether she used the colors I had picked or modified them somewhat, but they look great! I also have to say, I heard horror stories about remodeling jobs, but all the workers Camian brought into our home were respectful of our privacy, very friendly to be around and extremely skilled.

> Of all the rooms in my house, I just want to hang out in the bathroom. Good thing we have a nice soaker tub surrounded by candles for me to relax in. Camian really made our master bedroom a real retreat that has improved our lifestyle immensely. I would recommend her without any hesitation at all to do any major construction and/or design job.

> My husband and I hired Camian to design a new master suite and utility room for our house as well as a complete remodel of the original kitchen. The planning and design process was collaborative and thorough, and Camian worked with us, the contractor, and the draftsman until we developed a plan that would not only fulfill our need for more space but also make our house into a place where our family could grow and thrive.

> We were especially impressed by Camian’s willingness to listen to us and her ability to take what she heard and turn it into a part of the plan, a solution to a problem, or even another better idea. Camian not only listens but really hears and was able to translate our words and ideas into a vision of the place where we wanted to live. The contractor she suggested made it a reality. They helped us to stay true to the character of our small old house by truly integrating the new space into the old instead of just slapping on a couple of new rooms. While the new walls are made of drywall, for example, they were plastered to look like the walls of the original house and so the transition from old to new is unnoticeable.

> The remodeled kitchen that Camian designed has not only opened up the heart of the house but also brings the other rooms together in a new and organic way. The new laundry room is bright and full of functional counters and shelves, and our new master suite is spacious and full of light. Camian planned the new construction while also thinking about the best ways to integrate the new and upgrade the old—such as replacing the old roof while adding extra insulation for energy efficiency, creating skylights for livability, and finally eliminating holes and problems with drainage.

> We also really appreciated how hard Camian worked to include all the space and details we needed and wanted while still staying within our limited budget. She found the best materials possible and also made room in the budget for custom touches, like the beautiful handmade tiles in our kitchen and bathroom.

> Camian considered beauty, functionality, and budget on every level, from the floor plan to the colors of paint we chose, and she has an almost uncanny ability to see through what’s in front of her (a tile, a paint chip) to how it will fit into the larger whole.
