Dufour Design was selected after a thorough review process amongst other local contractors. Jamie stood out as someone with integrity and honesty, a willingness to work within a budget, and an ability to think "outside the box" for concept, design and efficient/responsible use of materials. Deadlines were met with effective communication of progress--this was especially important as we were not physically at the project during renovation. Superb craftsmanship and attention to detail. We designed a curved wall with curved glass to help divide the large space allowing s a more fluid alternative to the dominating straight lines and angles of the roof structure. We chose to use Fir as the 'warm organic detail' in the trim, the desk area, the vanity and the doors. The wood tones contrast beautifully with the dark slate and porcelain color tones. Makes you wonder how you ever were able to survive the old situation :-) .... **Q: Bathroom revamping** *(in Before & After)* I had a small budget from my customer. We kept the floor tiles, bathtub and corner shower (not seen here). We changed all the rest. Hope you like it ! A custom concrete trough sink, wood walls and to top it off a built in espresso maker. One of my favorite remodels. A: All that and you reused the old toilet in the same place? What did you do with the rest of the Bathroom space? the old shower space looks like you made that into a new storage area and obviously you traded off about 2-3 feet to another space moving the beautiful new shower inwards...curious as to why instead of giving the WC a more intimate setting? I don't understand the logic of a shower that appears to be 8 foot by 3.5 foot. **Q: 1972 bath makeover** *(in Before & After)* Being a retired widow on a limited budget redoing this bath was a major decision. Over the years we have changed the wall paper several times, then removed the paper, removed swinging doors from the front part to the back part, changed the counter top & floors but alway decorated around the green tub and potty. We knew removing a cast iron tub would be lots of work and expense. Also the tub and tile were in PERFECT shape. Well I finally bit the bullet and did the best I could. I had the cabinets refaced and painted, added 5 drawers, removed the wall between the front and back, put an arch in the ceiling, framed my old mirror with the arch theme, removed the fir down over the old mirror. Tiled the back part ceiling to floor, glass wall for shower, all new hardware, and a neat faucet you can't see here. I LOVE the new soaker tub. These pictures don't do it justice. A: Well executed...congratulations on taking the plunge and biting the bullet... I am certain you are enjoying and using this space more often then ever before. **Q: Before & After** *(in Before & After)* Talk about great curb appeal! A: I like how you snuck in the addition to the left but as others have noticed as well the scale of the windows on that addition are confusing to me including the finish not to mention a few of the roof details...It would appear that french doors were in the original design and for some reason turned into two undersized windows...great over all improvement in any case.!
