Can you say what this approx cost? A: This was a very involved project. The landscape side of it was app. $20k. However we included our architect and engineer. The foundation under the newly formed door way needed to be excavated and made deeper since now the bottom of the basement floor would be exposed to the frost. Drainage also had to be addressed since we were creating a large hole next to the foundation. I would say that total cost would be $35-50k **Q: Help with landscape design** *(in Landscape Design)* Hi all-I am ready to gut my current landscaping and go with a more minimalist and linear design. DROOL over some of the concrete walls/planters I have seen, but would guess they are pricey. I would love to perhaps spend less money on bushes and more on a wall but need ideas. Thanks so much :) A: A simple stacked stone wall in front of the door would give you a little height and move you in the direction you are going for. The stacked stone would be much easier and less expensive than a concrete planter. Keeping with a minimalist design, it is important to carefully select your plants. Grasses go really well in a minimalist design with boxwood or daylily. Maybe put some burning bush or purple sand cherry on the left side of the house for height.
