Mike refinished the hardwood floors throughout our home in Charlton, MA. He also redesigned and renovated our kitchen, replaced the railings/newel posts/balusters for our stairway, and replaced the tile floor in our half bath. From start to finish, Mike communicated well, explained the process, and answered any questions we had. Through thoughtful planning, Mike did his best to minimize disruptions to our family’s day to day living and to help us get back onto our floors or back into our kitchen as soon as possible, which was a huge stress reliever for us. Most impressively, even though the project was planned several months before starting, Mike was was able to give us specific dates for when each phase would begin and end. The project was completed according to that schedule and was done on time and, just as importantly, on budget. We’d also like to mention that the subcontractors who work with Mike are friendly, trustworthy, and have the same work ethic and dedication to customer satisfaction as Mike. We are extremely satisfied with the quality of Mike’s work. We have our dream kitchen and couldn’t be happier! Built in 1940 and renovated in 1972 and 1984, it had fir porch flooring in the Great Room and Master Bedroom. The floor had been refinished twice and the soft wood was highly dented. > > We searched our local retail sources and could find nothing that would match the old pine paneling. Our collection of furniture woods didn’t help. > > Turning to the internet we found Brazilian Direct Ltd. and were amazed at the beautiful woods they displayed. Their site was so informative and we ordered several wood samples. Ordering our flooring was so easy and Dan delayed our shipment until we were ready to receive it (all of our furniture had to be moved to our garage). Luck would have it, Dan had ONE opening on October 4th, otherwise we would have to wait until April, 2022. Dan came out to our home the following evening, punctual to the minute, surveyed the project, asked a lot of questions and made some great suggestions. His estimate was within our budget and slightly under our expectation. > > Monday, October 4th finally came and Michael and his son John arrived before 9 AM as promised and immediately set to work ripping up the old fir flooring. Tuesday morning they started installing our Tigerwood floor. As they opened up the boxes, we were amazed at the beautiful shades and patterns of the wood. As the installation progressed, Michael made a few suggestions that made the end result spectacular. The attention to detail, their respect for our home and furnishings, and their friendly and courteous personalities put us at ease.
