She spent nearly two hours with my wife and me, asking questions about our wants and needs, lifestyle issues, considering our window coverings, furniture and art work and then taking paint samples, room to room, and explaining accent wall colors, coordinating "friendly" colors, even taking lighting, both natural and artificial, into consideration. > The result was a very cohesive, natural flow of colors, with bold accents that ran throughout the house. Ms. Block was retained initially on a color consult for the home we built 13+ years ago. The residence is a very light filled space with a variable light dynamic as the day progresses--it was a tremendous challenge to evaluate day, afternoon and evening light and how color would truly "make" the space. Having collected traditional furnishings mixed with more contemporary art over the years, we wanted to showcase the furnishings, which the taupe/brown one color scheme did not..it was flat and dull--Krissy immediately saw that creme walls and dark gray with white trim on doors and windows would be perfect for the 12 foot living and dining room ceilings - featuring a beautiful graphic of slender creme stripes that truly fit the style and design of the residence--very Euro-chic! We then wanted her to undertake a new and fresh interpretation of layout for existing furnishings, art and accessories! She refreshed our home so elegantly. > We could not be happier with the entire experience and continue to work with her on an evolving basis for the home. She is very creative in the use of any "good" pieces you have that she can work with--she is also careful to respect your sensitivities about favorite pieces---if you don't have a style or a design aesthetic or even relatively good taste--she can help you find your way--- if you allow it!! We could have chosen anyone and she gets the nod from us on this as well as several other projects we selected her for in 2014. Extremely budget conscious, professional, bills are detailed, does not require micro-management on any level, can draw detail and elevations which are a real plus! She came to the initial consultation appointment on time and well prepared with samples. After a walk-through of the house (and ongoing conversation to engage us about our own design ideas), she made a number of suggestions that really opened our eyes to some possibilities that we hadn’t considered before. At the end of our consultation, we had a clear direction on design and color and she also provided us with the names of a few reliable local contractors. We ended up having the work done by one of her referred contractors and he and his team were great – every bit as quality-oriented as she’d said. Our project was of a small enough scale that Krissy’s continued involvement was not required.
