> Nada Djordjevic and her company Cornerstone Builders are really amazing.  We can't say enough how much we have enjoyed working with Nada and how pleased we are with the results of our design project with her.

> Note on Construction:  We worked with Cornerstone on a project that--for reasons unrelated to them--ultimately was put on hold, so we're not directly familiar with her building process.  However, we have heard nothing but the strongest praise for her quality and especially her ability to keep a project on schedule, even through adverse weather and circumstance.

> As far as the design side of the project, it was simply a joy to work with Nada.  She used her unique and thoughtful approach to helping us design a home that fit our lifestyle perfectly.  She starts with an in-depth interview/questionnaire, getting down to little things like "are you left- or right-handed?" and "do you cook with fresh, frozen, or canned ingredients?" to help determine things like kitchen layout, etc.
>
> She did a great job of adding just a few focal-point touches that made the design both more notable and more "us".  And--as is reportedly common--when the initial construction estimates came back higher than our budget, she took her knowledge of what was important to us (and what wasn't) to cut out or scale back the elements that cost a lot but didn't add value for us.

Nada did try to help us make some general projections with some "$/square foot" rules of thumb as we went along, but we were pretty surprised by the initial quotation, and needed to make some significant adjustments to yield savings to get the project to "work" for our budget.  If this is your first time around, we'd suggest:

> A) Getting (and listening to) Nada's input on the cost of elements you are considering including, before getting to the finish line, and
>
> B) Starting with more of a "baseline design" (what you can't live without) and adding to it, rather than starting with your dream home and shocking yourself with how expensive your taste is.
>
> Overall, we thought the process was amazing, and the result of the design phase was absolutely perfect for us and our budget.

Nada & Jovan, and their team of professionals, captured our personality exactly!  The crown molding and trim work were impeccable and not a seam to be found, which delighted my husband who is quite picky about those elements. > I have recently became the owner of a Cornerstone built home from 2004. My house isn't what I would consider a "custom built" home, but for the 300k price point, I would expect a little better quality in the "bones" of the house. There are numerous examples of where cheaper materials were used and corners were cut. (i.e. plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) Aesthetically speaking though, CBA did use mid to high quality finishes in areas that you would expect to see giving the illusion of a better built home. ( i.e. windows, flooring, built-ins)

> My advice to anyone considering buying a home built by Cornerstone would be to get professional opinions on top of what a home inspector says is ok. Just because some thing is up to "code," doesn't guarantee it's what you think it should be.

Previous owners lived in that house for 10 years and hired us again to help them with their new project.  They were in a plumbing business and were very happy with quality of plumbing in their home.

> You also referred to HVAC which was done by one of the most reputable local companies.  They installed high efficiency furnace and AC in the house.

What impressed me the most was their attention to detail and always trying to save me money, when it was a time in the building market when not many new homes were being built and they could have charged me more to make up their loss in income. I asked them to please put my house in the builder's showcase that would allow them free advertising and visitors walking through my house hoping that other's would see what a great job they did and what an ethical and moral building company they run. Nada and Jovan are total professionals in every way. Nada is a gifted designer, and is so easy to work with. On the few occasions that we desired something different than she suggested, she was very happy to accommodate our ideas. Jovan was also the consummate professional and does beautiful work. A: Hello, thank you for the inquiry. The fixtures were purchased at Lowe's and at the time were being discontinued.  They were perfect for the space.
