They charged me for that tarp obviously. A few days later, another wind tore the tarp up and they came back out to re-nail it down and charged me a second time. I was not happy paying a second time for the tyvek tarp and let them know that I feel it was over charged. Our roof was completed, and "so far so good." A clerical billing error was made, and I had to call a few times to request a correction, but it was satisfactorily resolved. When first reaching out to JB West for a roofing and chimney repair estimate, I was asked by the receptionist if ours was an insurance job. Insurance is tricky, as we had been denied twice recently by USAA after other roofers said they noticed hail damage. This time, I didn't want to bother even asking if any was noticed, but none was indicated by our estimator upon inspection. My next-door neighbor got a quote a few weeks later (no subsequent hail) from JB West where they indicated hail damage was present on their roof along with their two other family members' homes in our same neighborhood. I was later told by one of the crew members, "A meteor has to hit a roof insured by USAA." My neighbors use a local insurance company called, "Westfield." The crew member said my neighbors' insurers are far less stringent, so it was approved. Guess I need to switch insurance companies. **Comment from JB West:** > Thanks for sharing you experience.
