> Working with Triangle homes took the stress out of building a home. They worked with me from beginning to end to make sure that the house they turned over exceeded our expectations. The thing that I appreciated the most was that they walked through the process and talked through the options and helped us build our dream home. Rodney was the ultimate problem solver and had many suggestions we were happy to incorporate.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Paint brick fireplace?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We were considering painting the brick and shelves around the fireplace.

Some questions-
Should we paint if we think we might want to tile over the brick in the future?

If we paint, should we paint the brick and side shelves the same color? Any color ideas? (We're getting rid of the ceiling beams).

Thanks for the help!

A: Personally, I like the brick. Once it is painted, there is no turning back. If you are looking to update/ brighten up the room, paint the cabinets and shelving a light color, sand, white, taupe. Maybe remove or update the mantle.

**Q: Help with finding a brick that is close to this.** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Can someone help me find a brick that is close to this? Suggestions on brand and color. Thanks

A: This looks like it is General Shale "Seneca Blend"

**Q: What do you recommend for nightstands or tables beside bed?** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I love the bed, but I don't know if I want to buy the same color wood nightstands for the bedroom. I am thinking of ways to keep it classic, but update it with larger tables and a dresser that coordinates it all too. The pictures will be replaced with mirrors, unless everyone thinks differently. I appreciate in advance all of your help!

A: I think the night stands should be completely different, taller and a color, perhaps with some texture. Look on Wayfair for side tables. Very nice Hooker brand.

**Q: Island** *(in Design Dilemma)*

We just finished this kitchen what do you think?

A: Looks good. Like the dark floors with white cabinets.

**Q: Need help with bathroom painting** *(in Design Dilemma)*

This is our half bath with wallpaper removed. It previously looked like this:So glad the wallpaper is gone! Now we have tested a bunch of swatches and aren't quite sure if we've found the right one. Leaning toward (Magical) purple, which we like and the Sherwin-Williams employee who gave us the sample thinks we have nailed. Still it's bold and I want to make sure it won't look more overpowering than we think.
Here are a few pictures with the samples.

Thoughts?

A: If you like these colors, pick one. I would go with either the green or purple and paint the cabinet white and the trim white. It will look beautiful. I know you didn't ask, but I think you should lower that towel bar down. It is too high.

**Q: Help With Choosing a Kitchen Backsplash** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am working on painting my oak cabinets Benjamin Moore dove white. I have finished the top cabinets and working on the bottom cabinets. The microwave and cabinet above will be replaced by a stainless hood. Which backsplash do you think would look best with the black countertops? (Cannot change the countertops at the moment). We have a bit of a rustic feel to our house so I am leaning towards the stone (the first picture). Any thoughts or opinions?

A: I think the last one will look best as it has a nice variation of colors and textures.
