> Very happy with Best Buy Blinds. products are great, Judge and team very easy to work with, great install people. Had an issue with blinds for one room not looking like same color I ordered \[believe the lining made them a bit darker\] but Best Buy worked with me to get happy solution! We are new build, so needed whole house done - very pleased with all rooms. No hesitancy to recommend them.

> I called several blind companies to repair my shutters. I purchased a home with broken plantation shutters and they all said no. There reason was they needed to have installed them. However I did not know who installed them. Best Buy immediately said: " Sure we will help you out." I have recommended them to three people already. They did a great job as well.

> Judge was very patient during the decision making process and very easy to work with, suggesting options for the whole house. I ordered mostly shutters and a couple of light-filtering fabric roller shades and some solar roller shades too. Love everything - high quality, and install went smoothly! I plan to use them in the near future for the Carriage House windows too.

> Best Buy Blinds was awesome! We remodeled our home on Kiawah Island and were looking for a clean crisp look. The sales reps were incredibly patient and knowledgeable in helping us choose the right blinds. We choose their wood, custom color, 4 inch plantation shutters with hidden tilts and they are GORGEOUS in our home. The installation was timely and so professional. The installers were off the charts: very neat, clean and careful in our home. We had a great experience and were able to stay within our budget!

> Best Buy Blinds installed wooden plantation shutters in our newly renovated master bedroom and bathroom. Fowler Judge was very professional and helpful... especially when matching blinds to our woodwork. They were courteous, timely and answered all our questions. The shutters were completed on time as promised, and we would definitely use them again. The finished product is beautiful!

> I selected Best Buy Blinds for my plantation shutters and sun shades because Judge was helpful, patient, available when needed, and went the extra mile to find the exact color sun shade I was seeking. His installers also went the extra mile to raise my drapes after installing my shutters. We love the products and the service was five-star.

> I purchased motorized blinds/shades, drapery panels and a valence for multiple rooms from Best Buy Blinds. My experience with Best Buy Blinds was very professional. Everything was done on time or before and the products delivered were of the highest quality. I absolutely love the rich fabrics. I worked with the owners directly and they took extra time to answer all my questions and ensure I knew how to use the features of my motorized blinds/shades. If I have a need for additional window treatments in the future, I will definitely use them again. I highly recommend Best Buy Blinds for anyone in need of window treatments.

> We hired Best Buy Blinds, Inc. to install plantation shutters and several blinds in our new home. Everyone, from Judge who came out to measure and help with options, as well as the installers, was professional and friendly. We are very happy with our plantation shutters and have already ordered 4 more for windows we initially planned to leave untreated. The installation was much quicker than I thought and the blinds and shutters where ready when promised. I highly recommend Judge and Best Buy Blinds.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Roller shade color advice** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi there! Trying to sort out a color for our master bedroom. We have a beige gray wall- benjamin Moore classic grey and white trim. Should I try to match the wall color or go darker? Thanks!

A: I would have to consider roman fold woven wood shades. I am not sure of your other colors but woven woods are amazing and versatile.

**Q: Blinds** *(in Photo Questions)*

Name of this blind? Company? Is it total privacy?

A: Hello Jean, This is a Hunter Douglas roller shade with a cassette. It is a room darkening fabric and also private. Hope this helps. -Kelly

**Q: Window covering suggestions** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am looking for ideas on how to help block sunlight coming in this wall of glass. The middle 2 panels in the lower section are sliding glass doors. The 2 outside panels are stationary. Privacy is not an issue. We had thought about just tinting but something more decorative would be nice.

A: Cara and I have the same idea!

**Q: what do you think about these curtains** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I am adding Curtains to my daughters room and i dont like what i bought, i guess i need something heavy not sheer, i need shorter although the 84" not touching the ground but i guess thats better than the 96" i am having now. what do you think

A: Pooling curtains is a design decision that most designers like. I would not hem them if I decided to keep them. Also, the wide horizontal stripes on the curtains along with the small horizontal blinds make it feel uncomfortable to my eye. I would go with a solid color if it were my room.

**Q: Can I mix cellular & roller shades** *(in Design Dilemma)*

I have 3 large (picture like) windows on the front of the house. Have always dealt with wood blinds in other homes. I am putting in cellular shades on front downstairs windows. Am not interested in wood blinds as I feel that they would take away from picture like windows. And roller shades will probably be to flimsy for such large windows. There are 3 windows across the front of the second floor 2 of which are dormer windows that open to the great room so no blinds in those. The 3rd is a bonus room. Can I use a roller shade in this window even tho I'm using cellular below? Also have another 2nd floor window that is prominent as you drive up to the house that I'd like to use a roller shade in (and there is a downstairs window below it that I will use a cellular shade in). Can I mix cellular & roller shades or is to much of a mish mash of things in how the front of the house looks as far as window treatments go?

A: Considering that your house has a different texture on the second floor (as opposed to the brick on the bottom), staying consistent with cellular shades might help tie it together. Although, depending on your color choices, it may not be too noticeable. What's most important is picking the type of window treatment most functional for the room. So, if you're worried about the "mish mash," using a solid color of roller shades is a neutral choice and wouldn't be distracting. It could even help with setting the lovely arched window upstairs you mentioned apart from the others.

**Q: New build-D R Horton** *(in Design Dilemma)*

Hi, i hope i can have someone help me in this or if its a previously answered question, please refer me to it.
Well, after looking for options for our new home, we decided to go with D R Horton since they have in-house financing. After researching the reviews, which i came up with a mix of good and bad, we decided to give it a shot anyway. But am starting to have reservations. The sales guy is quite rigid, i dunno if am trying to haggle too much or what ( despite a few inconveniences on their part i would expect a brother to throw in a premium upgrade at least). Is this normal? We are coming in at the last phase of the build, there are options that are no longer available that came in standard with the other phases. Can anyone shed light into how one can handle this last-phase headache? Please, even if one is not able to answer the questions, share experiences, do's n don'ts of dealing with this builder.
Thanks in Advance.

A: I think it depends on how long they have been trying to sell the "last" property. I bought brand new for the first time last year and much of the choices were already made by their in-house designer. We were the 3rd family to purchase, I asked if they could put hardwood instead of carpet in one of the rooms before I signed, and the agent basically said, "nope...everything is just the way it is". I was not really willing to fight for it, so I let it go knowing I would have to add it later. However, I found out my neighbors negotiated hardwoods in all of their bedrooms upfront. So, I asked the question and was apparently not willing to walk away if they said no. If you don't negotiate before you sign the paperwork be prepared to take a hardline if you want something specifically done. I should have walked away before the signing if I wanted the hardwood floors badly. I am pretty sure they would have called me and made the change for me if I was willing to walk away.
