If so, has it been effective? Thanks in advance. A: Thanks for your question. Reduction of noise wasn't the impetus for the wood ceiling, though that has been a benefit. The wood ceiling section was used to break up the look of the sheetrock ceiling and to define the space. This look & feel was also used in the living room. While I don't have the exact color name, the product is Thoroshield by Thoro Systems. This floor is also waxed, which gives it the luster that you see and helps the concrete from drying out.
