> Jeff is an excellent architect and very personable. He was with us through the entire project from beginning to end. He offered input and suggestions to help get everyone on the same page. We recommend him highly to anyone who wants a good architect.

> We couldn't be more happy with our experience using Matsuki Architects. Jeff was always professional and responsive. One of the reasons that we selected Jeff was that he understands working in Hawaii. He has solid connections, practical advice, and is able to create a beautiful space in a cost effective manner. His work truly reflects the time he put into getting to know our family's needs and wants. And the results are impeccable! We now have our dream home. Mahalo, Jeff!

**Comment from Matsuki Architects:**

> Thank you for trusting me with your home. This project was very important to me and I'm so happy with the results. It really fits your family. Wishing you all the best in your new home. Aloha! - Jeff

> I recently hired Jeff for the second time to help design a brand new home for my family. The first time I hired him, it was for the renovation of my investment property. In both cases, he was very professional and attentive, always available to answer my calls and emails. I have already referred others to Jeff Matsuki and will continue to do so. Now that our home is complete and we are moved in, we are so happy with the final result, it truly is our "dream home" and we have Jeff's design expertise to thank for that!

**Comment from Matsuki Architects:**

> Sean & Lindsey- Thank you for trusting me with your new family home. We created a nice open design plan for you. It was a collaborative process and your detailed eye helped create the perfect home for you both. Wishing you all the best!

> We were first introduced to Matsuki Design after admiring a home in our neighborhood that had been one of Jeff's projects. What grabbed our attention was the fact that the renovation had sensitively kept the integrity of the original 1940's home in tact. Though we had very definite ideas about the renovation/restoration of our 1929 home, there were many challenges that only a professional with experience could work through.
>
> Jeff listened to our "wish list" before drawing up a design plan that remained within the current codes, then patiently worked with us to fine tune the details. All permit applications were submitted and monitored by him successfully.
>
> We are very satisfied with the final product and want to thank Jeff for all his hard work.

> Debbe & Ed- Thank you so much for the opportunity to work with you on the renovation/restoration of your beautiful home. There were a lot of details to consider and I could not be more happy with the outcome. You were both great clients! Wishing you both the best!

> We had a tare down rebuild project that Mr. Jeff Matsuki helped us with from start to finish. The lot was very small and narrow but Jeff designed our home to exactly what we were looking for. He maximized the space where the home feels open and looks deceiving from the outside. We even had a two car garage that we wanted. Jeff was very easy to work with and was always there when we had questions. His design vision and design talent are excellent. He envisioned our home beyond of what we though was possible. I would highly recommend Mr. Matsuki and would not hesitate to use his services again.

**Comment from Matsuki Architects:**

> Thank you Kirk for the opportunity to design a home for you and your family. It was one of the challenging sites I've encountered. The solution that we came up with works well and there is no wasted space. Thank you again and wish you and family the best!

**★★★★★ — keikidawn, Sept. 2014**

> Jeff Matsuki is professional, personable and makes a great team player. He helped to oversee the construction when it came down to details and guided us in choosing materials.

**Comment from Matsuki Architects:**

> Thank you KeikiDawn for the trusting me with your new home. I happy with the outcome and it suits your lifestyle well with open areas to entertain. Wishing you the best with future endeavors!

**★★★★★ — ryanagihara, May 2014**

> I used Jeff for a complete renovation of my home. Adding an architect to my team was actually the last component as I thought I could get away without one. Good thing I did engage Jeff because I can't imagine what the project would have looked like had he not been involved.
>
> Jeff's design ideas and detailed drawings were certainly key to having my project completed on time and on budget, in addition to having a beautiful finished product. In addition, Jeff worked some magic and was able to get permitting in less than half the time it usually takes.
>
> Jeff was flexible, creative, detailed, organized and timely. He communicates well and was responsive to all my requests. All important criteria for having a build go smoothly. I will definitely engage Jeff again if I can find another worthwhile project.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Kitchen Cooking Island** *(in Photo Questions)*

What is size of cooking island

A: Hello- The island is 8'-0" x 4'-6"

**Q: beautiful deck and tiles** *(in Photo Questions)*

Hello, I have the same kind of deck railing. Only mine is attached to the deck floor. I love how you have attached this one here. Just curious, what is the angle of pitch on this deck? What kind of tiles (brand and size) are these? Do they have textured surface for non slip grip? Our builder forgot to build in the slope and now we are trying to fix problems of water pooling without ripping out the entire upper deck. We are told we have to use 12x12 tiles to create the best sloping. :-(

A: Hi- sorry to hear the troubles you're having. The slope I believe is at least a 1/4"/foot. The tile is a travertine natural stone. It's not a too slippery but it is fairly smooth. Hope that helps and good luck on your project.
Jeff

**Q: Wall color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

I like the dark accent walls, What color is it?

A: Hi there. I'm not sure what the color was. It was actually existing woof paneling and we ended up doing a custom stain.

**Q: Countertops** *(in Photo Questions)*

What material was used for the countertops?

A: Hi- Thank you for the question. The countertops are a dark gray quartz material.
