> We moved into our new home in May of 2017. From initial site visits to final drawings Michael was outstanding to work with. He patiently and effectively worked with us during a 6 month design phase. He took our general design concepts and creatively transformed them into a home design that met or exceeded our goals for functionality, style and budget. He was quick to respond to questions with both pros and cons to any change we proposed. During the construction phase we made only minor changes to the house plans. Michael was professional in our interaction from beginning to end. We strongly recommend him for any home design project.

> Michael Papit, architect, carefully listened to our objectives and concerns, helped us explore various possibilities, and came back with timely plans that exceeded our expectations. He designed a 900 square foot addition that includes a piano room with vaulted ceiling, expanded kitchen/dining area, bedroom, bathroom, laundry room, and closets. His suggestions for tying the addition to our 1870 brick farmhouse and including an "outdoor gathering room" (screened porch), along with other ideas, have created value that will enhance our enjoyment for many years. We are extremely pleased that we hired him instead of trying to do it alone with our builder.

**★★★★★ — A M Yoder & Co., Inc., Aug. 2015**

> Our firm specializes in collaborative design build projects for both new construction and renovations. Working with Mike has been great on both project types. He is responsive, thoughtful, articulate and a true design craftsman. We enthusiastically recommend him for Architectural services and look forward to many more successful projects together.

> We had always wanted a rock home depicting an Old World, European look. I had seen a home that I really admired and learned that Michael Papit had designed it. We contacted him and our journey began with Michael. It was a great partnership. Michael listened to us, understood our lifestyle, and obviously was quite knowledgeable of the style we wanted. The lot was a small one on Smith Mountain Lake, therefore, we wanted to capture the lovely view. Michael designed the house in such a way that the house enveloped the view and never lost the Old World look.
> He was so pleasant to work with, timely, and always kept us on track to focus on the style that we so adamantly wanted. We could not be more pleased with the outcome of our home!

> We hired Michael Papit to design a complete renovation and addition to our 1970s A-frame lake house. Michael was a joy to work with throughout the process. He understood our needs and drew detailed plans that enhanced the home's existing features and fit within our budget. We are thrilled with the finished product.

> Michael Papit has earned our trust, appreciation, and gratitude during our recent construction project. He professionally opened our eyes to options and alternatives beyond our original concepts. He patiently listened to a lengthy and what could often be contradictory wish list for our forever home and melded them into two excellent designs that met all requirements and even broadened our vision. Once we agreed upon the final option, Michael set about completing very detailed and specific plans for bringing our home to life. Throughout the process/project Michael was there to assist us in material selection. He leveraged his knowledge of local sources and types of material (windows, roofing, doors etc) to help us work with the builder to hold the project costs close budget. He also offered budget saving ideas or "tweaks" to design as well as options to complement the design and site. On the practical side, the plans spoke for themselves we never had a work delay, hold up or "do over" as a result of misinterpretation or lack of clarity of the plans. We approved & the builder and contractors moved out carrying out the plan. Plans like these definitely pay for themselves through the avoidance of cost over runs & additional delays. That said Michael's originally estimated cost is currently the only component to come in under budget. He listens, internalizes and then creates your vision but better. Extremely high return on investment. Thank you Michael. Tom & Carol

> Michael Papit is working with us on a very complete renovation of an old farm house. He drew up the architectural drawings and has assisted in their implementation. He brought his expertise and vision to our project and helped us to see what could be done to revitalize the old house while maintaining its character. He presented ideas for us to consider and was helpful in guiding us wihile being respectful of our desires. Michael is very patient, positive and supportive. His knowledge is both technical and artistic. He is very accessible.
