The job was started by a different builder who offered us an enticingly low bid, but after a few weeks of slow to no progress, more than one misinterpretation of the building plans, and a less-than-professional work crew, we realized we had gotten exactly what we paid for, and ended that relationship. On the recommendation of Alex Bergtraun of Studio Bergtraun (the designer of the fence - also highly recommended!) we hired Dan to complete the roughly 80% of work that remained. He reviewed the plans, communicated with the designer and the property surveyor to ensure everybody was on the same page, and got to work. Dan is very professional, friendly, and easy to communicate with. He was onsite whenever his presence was required, and otherwise left the day-to-day to his capable and professional crew. Approximately six months ago I hired him to build out an existing structure behind my house to bring it up to both legal and aesthetic standards to rent to prospective tenants. Throughout the project Dan was always available to discuss any questions I had and never failed to provide a detailed analysis of possible options along with his recommendations. He also quickly adjusted project goals and timelines as priorities shifted or additional requests from myself or the city arose. His employees were professional and very respectful of my property and always left the space tidy and organized. Would save on counter space and be visible from everywhere? A: Thanks for the note. The short answer is that is how my client wanted it. The TV actually is on a motor that allows it to travel up and down, and although it is unclear in the photo, there is a piece of countertop and a watertight gasket, on top of the TV. When closed this flushes out with the counter. It is on a remote and super James Bond-ish.
