We felt as if we had exhausted all available options in our target neighborhoods. Our realtor suggested that we check out a home that was still under construction in the neighborhood between 75 and Greenville Ave. She mentioned that the firm -- Jim Scott and Sons -- had built her own home in Highland Park. > > I had seen her home in Highland Park and had been struck by the blend of modern design and character-rich details and warmth. I was excited about the chance to own a home like hers. > > When my wife and I came to the still-then-under-construction home, we met Peter Scott and he walked us through the property. From the first few minutes of seeing the home, my wife and I felt that this was the home for us. For instance, they had preserved the original wood from the 1920's in the front room, but added tremendously to the original's home's size. The facade is in keeping with the history of the neighborhood, and the kitchen is stylish, well-appointed and contemporary. We're delighted with every feature of the home, and happy with each decision they made. They transformed an already fine study into the study of my dreams, a room modeled after one of the private study carrels in the library of my alma mater. We have literally been stopped in the street by our neighbors half a dozen times since we moved in because they've wanted to compliment our home. And they've only seen the exterior! I, my wife, and our infant son love our home, and feel very lucky to have moved into a house built by Jim Scott and Sons. > > Their professionalism has been impeccable.
