> Ms. Mojabeng Kamala redecorated a room using my own art, plants and furniture to give it a flow and make it a welcoming space. I had struggled with what to do with this room for a couple of years. She was able to come in and quickly get a sense of me, of the space and what I wanted. Over the weekend, she produced several options for me to review the next week, which simplified my decision-making.
>
> Her responsiveness and "design eye" were just what I needed, as once ready, I wanted to move forward and get it done! After a couple of hours, she had given a major face-lift to my room, which I enjoy being in now.
>
> Her combination of professional skills and experience plus the ability to relate well with clients made it and enjoyable process. In the end, I was very satisfied with the outcome and would not hesitate to recommend her for any re-design or decoration projects.

> I was at loss at how to place furniture in the lounge. After exhausting all possibilities, I sought help. After finding out how our family lived and intended to use the space, Divine Interiors came to our rescue. They were professional, inclusive in their decision making. I would highly recommend.

## Community Q&A

**Q: Entryway / Foyer flooring design - tacky or pleasing?** *(in Home Decorating)*

This is about flooring, but I'm interested to get opinions from a "design" perspective. We're building a home with hardwood on the main floor and considering a chevron design in the entryway. I attached a picture of what I'm talking about (we would not have furniture on it as the picture does). Is this tacky/gaudy/too much? Is it worth considering if the cost isn't prohibitive? I like it, think it looks great...but could live without it and don't want to hurt resale value if its a polarizing look.

A: Love it

**Q: Suggestions for neutral "taupe" paint colors?** *(in Home Decorating)*

Hi, I'm going to be listing my home for sale in the next 6 months and feel like I should change the living room and dining room paint colors to a more neutral, "buyer friendly" color. I have distressed wood floors and was thinking a nice, light, almost taupe leaning color would be nice. So like between a tan and a gray? I'm not partial to all the gray you see on HGTV right now (I'm not so sure it would look good with my wood floors anyway) and a cream is boring. I can see the color in my minds eye but I've been to too many places to get little paint chip samples at this point and am on overload. A light color with just a little something in it. I'll paint the living room, dining room and up the stairs in this new color.
If it matters, I live in Southern California and my trim color is Decorator White from Behr. The other color I mostly decorate with is a light blue in fabrics etc. if that matters.
I'm wanting a color that buyers will flip over. So if you have any insights about that, please, let me hear them.
Thanks for your time and help!!

A: Just a few pictures with that color combo.

**Q: NOT having a sofa in LR? Tried it? Liked it?** *(in Home Decorating)*

A friend of mine just replaced her sofa with comfy chairs and seems quite happy - any things I should consider before going this route? I'm quite torn for a number of reasons so ideas welcome. Note: I have a very small space, so concerned chairs will look "cluttered".

A: We have a FR and the LR has that set up.Initially I had a couch, chair and a half and ottoman - loved the uncluttered look; eventually got rid of the couch and added two wing chairs - loved that as well. Now it's 4 bucket chairs in a circle w/ a round ottoman. Check out Rebecca Robenson on you tube; she does this set a lot.

**Q: My Old Lady curtains** *(in Home Decorating)*

I embrace that old lady moniker. I'm not there chronologically (yet), but I think my choice of curtains applies. I opened one panel so you could enjoy the delightful parrots amongst the flowers. Perfection!

A: i love them......

**Q: Stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff, stuff!** *(in Home Decorating)*

OK, that was a ridiculous thread title, but after a visit to Home Goods over the weekend I am struck (as has happened on previous occasion) by the sheer volume of stuff that is available to purchase these days. To say there is a proliferation of objects, many of which serve no other purpose than to decorate, is a massive understatement. Never before has there been so much of it, and just about any item you're capable of imagining has very likely been produced and is available somewhere for sale.
It truly boggles my mind.
If you can't find it at the brick-and-mortars, you'll find it online. You'll find it being sold secondhand. You'll find it, along with its sisters and brothers in 37 delightful colors. Do you ever wonder what it would be like for a woman transported from, say, the 17th century, to wander amongst the countless offerings at Ikea? Wouldn't her head just spin completely off her shoulders and then explode in mid air?
What do you predict - will more and more and more just keep being produced? Aren't we already overly saturated with it all? Where does it begin, where does it end, who buys it all? Am I the only weirdo who thinks about stuff like ... stuff?!?
I've certainly bought more than my fair share of it over the decades, and I continue to do so (hence the Home Goods visit). And I'm not making a pronouncement that "stuff = bad" necessarily ... Merely observing that the billions upon billions of things that are being produced in our world today is a staggering thing to ponder.

A: I say collect the stuff - but when it either suffocates or owns you; let it go.

**Q: What decorating style makes you think "old lady"?** *(in Home Decorating)*

Just curious. My LR needs some serious updating.

A: Enough said....
