After contacting various contractors we knew -- some large and some small -- each was too expensive, couldn't do the entire job, or couldn't meet our schedule to totally remodel our three-bedroom/two-bath condo in Washington, DC. Pretty sure the case/trim will be white as the windows and the rest of the exterior trim is white. i will be installing hot rolled steel in the area between the door casing and the Windows which is currently white. The house was remodeled with a mid century modern vibe Got a suggestion on paint code color? A: It depends on the rest of the house that we can can't see from the photo. If you are adventures you can go with the classic Mid Century modern green, which is very bright and fun color, like BJM Sweet Pee or tone it down with BJM Willow Springs Green, for less adventures color, you can always go with a darker sage color like Fresh Grass **Q: why do 2 identical tiles look so different in corner?** *(in Design Dilemma)* I understand the light must hit this corner to create such a contrast in identical tiles, but what should I do? Has anyone had this problem before? This seems to have the tile pros stumped even. It does not look like this in other corners. A: its like the "what is the color of the dress"..all over again lol **Q: Does this floor plan look good?** *(in Design Dilemma)* We're planning a full remodel. Completly changing floor plan and expanding the front of the house. Attached is the floor plan we've designed. What do you think? Does if flow well? Are dimensions good? Is great room, great enough? All feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! A: looking at the plan as is, there are lot of long hallways. Most people are going for the open floor concept which is not the case on this plan. Also there is room that shares a wall with the main entry hall to the house, that would create a lot of noise to the person using this room. Just a a few points **Q: 2 Sinks or 1 in Master Bath?** *(in Polls)* For a married couple, assume you only have 5 feet of vanity counter space in the master bath, do you go with 2 sinks (and less open counter space) or just 1 sink (with more open counter space)? A: I think most people prefer two sinks so you can get ready along side if needed. Also for resale value most people want two sinks. Creating the correct storage space under the sink (using drawers) and in wall storage can eliminate the need for a large counter top space and avoid all the clutter. This is 5' run Before and After (not in order) **Q: I love this kitchen, where did u get your counters and flooring??** *(in Photo Questions)* A: Hi, not my project, but those look like butcher block counters, We used signature custom woodworking before and they do a fantastic job. You can also check in your local area. www.signaturecustomwoodworking. **Q: How many bathrooms do you want in your home?** *(in Polls)* Having the perfect amount of bathrooms in the home all depends on the living situation. How many bathrooms would you prefer in your home? A: As you said it depends on the living situation. In general I would say you want at least one on each floor, which can be a powder room - on the main floor and in the basement (unless you have a guest bathroom in the basement then it should have at least a shower).
