**★★★★★ — David Godbout, Oct. 2017**

> The Killeen Studio architects worked with us (and not just for us) in the transformation of a vacant theater building into a community center space. I highly recommend them.
>
> The atmosphere in their office is both highly professional and very much personal at the same time. Our interaction in their office and at the job site seemed to be as long as necessary but brief enough that I knew they respected the element of time.
>
> Their knowledge of city departments and processes made our project move along "pain-free." Michael Killeen was personally present in the Zoning Board hearing that was necessary for our project, answering questions and offering his perspective on the job.
>
> David Lisinski, our primary architect, listened to our needs and hopes for the project and incorporated those with the structural and practical aspects of the existing space.
>
> The project is in its beginning stages; I will upload photos as we progress.
>
> I highly recommend Killeen Studio Architects.

**★★★★★ — Jessi, Dec. 2015**

> The team at Killeen Studio Architects was a pleasure to work with. My husband and I decided to build a house from the ground up. It was a challenging project as we both use manual wheelchairs so we wanted full accessibility without the hospital feel AND we bought our land in the middle of a historic district in St. Louis. Translation: challenges and red tape. We went through severl meetings with both the neighborhood and city board. Mike and his team helped us navigate those.
>
> KSA really cared about us and our wants and needs. They listened well when we brought up accessible features and did a good job of helping us marry those features with beautiful design. They have a great understand of historic neighborhoods and how to make design work.
>
> They continued to be of great help throughout the project with details or concerns raised either by our contractor or the city inspector.
>
> If you've never worked with an architect on a WHOLE project (like us new home buildiers) just budget in to keep getting invoices throughout the project. It's part of the process but was not something we realized at first.
>
> Overall, we were more than happy with their work and if we needed an architect again, we'd hire them in a heartbeat.
>
> (You can check out their album on our home here, http://www.houzz.com/projects/1333349/factory-style-home-in-historic-st-louis-neighorhood)

> Outstanding firm. They were very ethical, followed thru, did what they said, coordinated with general contractor, and worked within my budget.

**★★★★★ — nodnagrom, April 2015**

> The entire team at Killeen Studio has been a pleasure to work with. We came to them with a design for a unique kind of home in an old part of the city, and they LISTENED and understood our sensibilities quickly. The key thing to know about architects Mike Killeen and David Lisinski is how collaborative they are - that they will work with you to find the best ways to build what you want \[and can afford!\]. Mike is very creative and will whip up very cool sketches as you are speaking, and, as if by wizardry, they will capture the essence of what you are trying to describe! Plans were developed for a flat fee after an initial period of meetings on an hourly clock that allowed for the concept to be brought to an agreed-upon structure and price range. They are excellent at developing solutions to the expected bugaboos that develop as any project unfolds, with absolutely no "prima donna" attitudes. They will do more or less of the supervision of construction, as you wish. They recommended builders for us to interview, people they have known and worked with and could vouch for. Plans were delivered on time and were accurate to our specifications. Subsequent tweaks and help with city regulations and codes were done when we needed their expertise, and other such things were done by us. Bottom line is that Mike Killeen runs a superb studio where his staff obviously enjoys working together and does fine work. We have had been creative together with them and had fun in the process, and we would recommend them to anyone looking for a first rate architectural firm. Oh yes, and the house looks amazing!

**★★★★★ — friedmpt, March 2015**

> Killeen Studio Architects are awesome! Creative, inventive, open, and fun to work with. We wanted a "factory" and we got a fantastic factory, complete with steel beams, a 1500 sq ft open first floor (no posts or columns in the interior of the room), open ceiling with 3" joists, and a dramatic 2 story high entrance next to stairs going up to the ceiling. Mike Killeen clearly loves playing off your ideas.

**★★★★★ — janettelonsdale, March 2015**

> We loved working with Killeen Studio Architects. We needed drawings to buid a laundry area in our 100-year-old St. Louis condo. The project included demolition of a closet that divided the condo’s large hall into two awkward spaces. Our new laundry is still under construction but we can already see it makes better use of the space. Mike Killeen and his team not only turned the drawings around fast, but also gave us advice, ideas and the names of trusted contractors. The whole experience was very professional, the drawings were exactly what we needed and the price was reasonable. We will certainly use Killeen Studio for our next project and I have no hesitation recommending them to others.

## Community Q&A

**Q: What is the brand of cabinets and stain color?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: Sorry for the delayed response. The cabinets are Beck/Allen. The stain color is dark brown alder.

**Q: Thank you!** *(in Before & After)*

Looked at pictures of harlequin floors for the first time on your site. Decided I MUST have this floor. I came to this web site for advice and you were so much help. My design dilemma was whether or not to put a full solid border around floor or no border. AIso, what color....black or white? ended up putting a solid white border just at entrances leading to hall and decided on white because your designers advised that WHITE would make the hall look bigger and it did just that. I just LOVE the results and I can't thank your design team enough! So elegant and beautiful. What do you think?

A: beautiful work
