Lara would come everyday to check in with me on what they had planned for the day. I watched as she supervised her staff on what to do. Lara is a perfectionist and meticulous to detail. Even if it took her men several tries moving things around then maybe back again, she would not stop until she felt good about it. No cutting corners, sending back plants that were dead, problem solving areas depending on how much sunlight was available. It was the. I realized this is what I paid for. A trained landscaper who knew plants and design. I originally was going to have my gardeners do it but they did not have the knowledge or skill to come up with a thought out design or know what plants could survive in different spaces in my yard. The final result was amazing and it truly brings me a sense of happiness when I look at my yard. My dog loves it and I’m saving money on water and need my gardeners just once a month instead of two times a month. She saw that I am totally illiterate in this area and offered a number of plantings for me to choose from, keeping in mind that deer frequent the area so that the plants should be unappealing to them. She was generous with her knowledge and advice, which I appreciated. She does only one project at a time, so that she is able to give it her full attention. > What impresses me very much about this project is not visible. It's the drip irrigation that slakes the thirst of each individual plant, in amounts specific to each plant. So, not only are the plantings drought tolerant, they need only small sips of water which is important in our continuing drought. > Lara was very punctual, she and her crew started and finished on schedule. Her crew are very competent and her foreman, Francisco, is especially capable. Their work was impeccable and they clearly knew what they were doing. > Lara quoted me a price which I thought was reasonable, and she stuck to that figure. As it turned out, there were some additions (at my request) which caused price increases but they were reasonable and Lara did her best to keep increases minimal. > Lara is a lovely person to work with; she is very personable. She is very accommodating and really listens. She very much wants to do the best possible job and make her clients happy. I was delighted that she beautified an area adjacent to the street that we had not discussed and no plans had been made -- she took it upon herself to do that and it was a lovely surprise, using paving stones that she had recycled from the original path to the front door, and improved the appearance of that area markedly. > The original bid was $20,500 and the final price was $21,542.
