They are overextended and make promises that they know they cannot keep. Lack of designers, especially with more modern ideas is also a problem. The home itself is ok...lots of punch list/cleanup...but their lack of communication, follow through, poor subcontractors, and overall caring about the customer should be a reason to avoid them...and we've built 4 other homes. I guess that's to be expected these days. Throughout the whole process, the builder was hard to work with and often not open to our design requests or doing anything outside the box. McKenzie is not truly a custom builder, only "semi custom" at best. > > Even after moving into the home, there's still unfinished work that McKenzie hasn't come back to complete months later. On top of that, we have serious maintenance issues that they refuse to address.
