He completed every single tasks on time and he created a suite that 100% percent of our family and friends could envision themselves living in. From the design work to the trades, he has the VERY best crew of people around him. I can certainly give you this information. the wall color is Benjamin Moore, Fairview Taupe HC85. The color is actually more grey than it appears in the picture. The tile is Evolution Quartzite Porcelin tile 16 x 24 in grey. Judy **Q: Dark-colored Kitchen** *(in Before & After)* We were a bit nervous about doing such an extreme change, but I think we forget how effective and elegant a dark-colored kitchen can look. After some serious refurbishing/ backsplashes and wall color update, this is what came out. We called it The Road to Marrakesh. I'd love to see what other designer worked on in this area A: I love the transformation. Lots of character. I would like to see some more lighting over the island though and some colour on the double white doors. You could paint them a shade lighter than the walls to make them blend away or go bold with a colour from the cabinets **Q: Where to place a Washer/Dryer** *(in Design Dilemma)* Hi, I have 2 bathrooms and a walk in closet. The dilemma I have is whether to place washer/dryer into the guest bathroom or in the closet. I like closet idea because I can change there and keep dirty cloth nearby and put them into the washer right away. Also, I could have ironing board there. However, I see that in most cases it is placed in the bathroom and almost never in the closet. Here is the layout and how both versions would look like. Thanks in advance for any thoughts! A: The idea of having the washer/dryer in the master closet is great, but the reality is not good if something should go wrong with the washer (eventually there is always a problem). I would prefer to have it in the basement or on the main floor in an area where there is no carpet or hardwood floors. **Q: Quick opinion on doorknob color** *(in Design Dilemma)* I decided updating our aging doorknobs (and hinges) throughout the house would be an easy way to give it a fresh look and keep coming up with matte black as the color I like. Just feeling a little nervous about that color choice and seeking feedback. We want to have the house in a condition to sell in a few years if need be and not sure if this is a popular look or just me liking it. We have a typical suburban colonial built in 1974. Old knobs: New: Thanks! A: Your idea of matte black is a good one. I would also suggest a lever style in place of the traditional knobs. They are much easier to use for everyone. **Q: Dated Powder Room Gets Classic Makeover** *(in Before & After)* This powder room is in my home, Malvern House. Having been first planned in the early 1900's, contained separate restrooms for men and women. This is the gentlemen's powder room. The property was renovated with modern conveniences, still keeping the general décor and feel of the historic home intact. Read more on the history of the home. A: Very dramatic. It suits the house.
