## Community Q&A

**Q: Weird debris falling from ceiling** *(in Remodeling)*

Since this bathroom was remodeled, a fine powdery substance has been falling from the new ventilation fan, onto the toilet below.
We first thought it was a little loose sawdust and assumed it would stop. But every time I clean it away, more appears. No one is using the room or disturbing anything nearby. We've tried running the fan for a while, turning it on and off briefly a bunch of times, banging on it, and vacuuming from below. Nothing has stopped it. It happens without the fan ever being turned on and even if the house is vacant for days.
We removed the fan cover, but all we see is a cylinder covered in this stuff. It seems too fine to be sawdust, and I don't know where sawdust would originate, anyway. It is similar to face powder in color and texture. Can anyone identify this and suggest what to do about it?

A: Yassin Ata did you ever find out what was causing this? Thanks!
