> The first job Mike Applegate did for me was building handrails on an extremely challenging terraced back yard.  He built two sets of incredibly sturdy and handsome wood handrails that exceeded all my expectations.  It was when he came to make an estimate for the handrails that he commented on my real problem area in the back yard - the concrete block retaining walls.  The bottom wall had appeared near collapse from the time we bought the house 15 years ago, and it got worse each year.  Also, the paver stone walkway on that level was dangerously collapsed so that it wasn’t safe to let anyone other than me to walk on it.  The second level wall also had tilting issues in spots, though not as extreme as the bottom wall.  I had always feared a total collapse of the three levels of retaining walls and a landslide of blocks and mud crashing into the house from the time we moved in, but I had no idea who could do such a job, and I was sure I couldn’t afford it.  The other issue with our yard is that there isn’t room to bring in heavy equipment, so any work would have to be done by hand, which I thought was possible.  When I asked Mike if he could do something like that, he immediately described in detail every step of how he would fix the walls and walkway, doing it all by hand.  The estimate he submitted was amazingly affordable, both financially and the time involved.  I was so excited to find someone who could do this job for such a fair price.  He and his wife worked together on the job.  They worked incredibly hard and fast.  They showed up on time, cleaned up everything when they were done, explained every step and respected my property as if it were their own.  The job was finished ahead of schedule and looks perfect.  I’m so excited to have it look the way it was supposed to for the first time.  Plus, they are very friendly, professional people.  We enjoyed having them around.  Mike even followed up a few days after completion of the job to make sure we were still happy or if he needed to come fix anything.  I HIGHLY recommend Applegate Enterprises.  I will call Mike any time I have a job, no matter how big or small.  In fact, I’m already planning on hiring him for a third job soon.
