> Andre Rothblatt, Architect, did an amazing design job converting an unfinished shell of a Garco metal barn into a residence for me. I would not change anything! He is extremely professional, thoughtful, detailed-oriented, a good listener, provides design options and concepts, is knowledgeable about construction and costs, does his research, works well with contractors, explains things in detail, and is extremely patient. He's also extremely competent and helpful in getting plans through governmental agencies for approvals and permits. I highly recommend this talented architect.

> I'm a 2nd general contractor who has worked with Andre for over a decade. We've collaborated to rebuild after the San Bruno fire, been featured in magazines and publications, and won design accolades together. The common denominator throughout all our projects is Andre visualizes the end product and leads the project to make it a reality. With his experience comes an uncanny ability to create bespoke design for each client, navigate efficiently through the permit process, and flexibly guide the construction to stay on time. Andre Rothblatt delivers on what he promises. Just ask the professionals he's worked with and his many satisfied clients.

> My remodel was a bit of a crazy and frustrating experience given the antics of my contractor. During that time, Andre was a voice of sanity that was much appreciated. My remodel took the house mostly down to the studs. Andre's design was good. My focus was on the kitchen and bathrooms which were all replaced (plus one bathroom added). One of the most wack and successful portions of the remodel was the steampunk bathroom (seen on Andre's Houzz page: http://www.houzz.com/photos/bathroom/query/steampunk). We told him the general concept of what we wanted there and he ran with it. He also designed a really fantastic kitchen and re-designed the traffic flow between the kitchen, dining room, pantry, and half bath that works really well.

> We hired Andre for a gut renovation of our kitchen and butler’s pantry in our condo in our historical building near Mission Dolores. The project was completed over four months in 2016, and we could not be happier with the result. Our goal with our renovation was to improve the layout and upgrade the surfaces and finishes (countertops, cabinetry, flooring and lighting), while preserving the essential historical character of the building. We are delighted we found Andre; he was the perfect partner for us in this process.
>
> Andre listened carefully to our goals for the project, and presented us with a number of initial sketches of possible designs. In this alone we were thrilled we hired him — we ended up choosing a novel idea of Andre’s, which was to create a peninsula for our main counter space and seating extending from an old exposed brick fireplace that is one of the most visually interesting features of the space. We never would have thought of this idea on our own, and the end result is fantastic.
>
> Beyond just the initial design and architectural drawings, Andre worked closely with us through the entire construction process, from attending many, many interviews and carefully reviewing bids from contractors, to offering thoughtful opinions on the many details and questions that arise during the construction process. Andre was always patient, thoughtful and diplomatic throughout the process, even when expressing an opinion that differed from ours and our contractors. Looking back, in every instance that Andre expressed a strong opinion, we’re glad we trusted his experience and listened — he turned out to be absolutely right.
>
> In short: If you want someone who will listen to your goals, bring lots of creative ideas and experience to help you achieve those goals, and see the project through every step all the way to completion, hire Andre!

> Besides Andre's keen design eye and creative vision, he played an integral role of mediator and part-time project manager with our general contractor. Like most GC's, ours left 99% of the work to his crew and was not as involved as we hoped. Andre not only kept the GC honest and engaged, but he also questioned some execution points that didn't seem to follow Andre's vision. He was our dependable advocate throughout the 8 month project.

**★★★★★ — David D. Quillin Architecture, March 2016**

> I have known Andre for about twenty years as a fellow professional. We have collaborated in the past, and I am very familiar with his work and his work process. I have always admired Andre's approach to design, seeking out direct and simple solutions to complex programs. He typically creates harmonious and contextual solutions that work with their environment.

> We hired Andre Rothblatt to design a master bedroom suite in our basement. The project took nine months. We gutted our basement and removed the main staircase. The design included a new master bedroom, bathroom, walk-in closet, and laundry room, and an addition of a new main staircase. We opened up the back walls to put in new windows, including a sliding glass door.
>
> Andre is a collaborative, creative and sensitive designer. He created a beautiful plan for our house. He worked well with our contractor to ensure a timely project, and made sure all details of the plan were carried out. We couldn't be happier. Andre is a true professional, and a very gifted architect. We highly recommend him.

> After interviewing several potential architects, we decided to use Andre to add a two bedroom, two story addition to our tiny 1912 Victorian home in San Francisco. He was fantastic. Throughout the process, Andre was skilled at incorporating our ideas into an overall vision. He was straightforward enough to gently point out problems with some of our thoughts, and, then suggest other, more realistic options. He even won over my wife, who initially wanted to hire one of the other architects. Highly recommended!

> We did a large scale renovation of our 1920's house in Burlingame. Our goal was to open up the kitchen, connect it to the backyard, and add a bedroom/bathroom. Andre provided three alternative plans including options to add a second story. We went with Andre's recommendation which was to enlarge the kitchen and add the new bedroom at ground level / just below grade in the back of the house.
>
> We are very pleased with Andre's work. He has a great eye for detail. Our house was a challenge because of small rooms and multiple levels. He came up with a great plan to enlarge and open the kitchen and add a family room connected to the deck outside. We recommend Andre completely.

> Our 1928 north slope Bernal Heights home with a big view needed an upgrade. Andre Rothblatt was highly recommended by our across-the-street neighbor whom he had helped in 2004. Andre is a good listener with valuable San Francisco experiences, including the Bernal Heights neighborhood design board. He very thoughtfully designed the glass areas that we wanted and covered a lot of other little details we never thought of, then he coordinated well with an engineering firm. He also recommended a couple of contractors, one of whom we chose. This team worked well together and delivered an awesome result at a reasonable price. Architect Andre Rothblatt is the guy to call.

> Commissioned and built in 1936, our home was designed by an architect responsible for many of the lovely homes in the Monterey Heights, Balboa Terrace and Forest Hill neighborhoods of San Francisco, but whose design expertise almost always stopped at the kitchen door and particularly at all four doors leading into our tiny 10' x 10' kitchen. So when we decided to have this ancient and dysfunctional kitchen brought into the 21st century, it was very important to us that the architect's design be as sensitive as possible to the traditional and somewhat formal design of our home.
>
> The challenge was to create a fully-equipped functional kitchen within the 10' x 10' envelope, and expand the adjacent 3' x 6' powder room into a full bath with shower. Andre Rothblatt, AIA met this challenge admirably and with brilliant creativity. Andre transformed a kitchen whose only work surfaces were a 24" x 24" countertop and a wall-mounted ironing board into a bright and beautiful space filled with custom-made cherry cabinets and an extensive work surface of rich, warm Ubatuba granite. Our remodeled kitchen and bathroom integrate seamlessly into the traditional design of our house.
>
> Selecting from among the seemingly infinite choices of cabinets, tile, appliances and other materials was overwhelming. Andre understood exactly what we wanted and was fully engaged in helping us select the perfect cabinets, appliances, tile, and flooring, and he worked closely with our contractor to insure that the project was completed to his exacting design specifications.
>
> Remodeling projects are not without difficulties and setbacks, but Andre's many years of experience with the city permit process and his precise and reasonable design resulted in our project being quickly approved and thus completed within a reasonable amount of time and within budget. Andre's infinite patience with my concerns and many "what ifs" made it a joy to work with him. I recommend Andre Rothblatt without hesitation!

**★★★★★ — Anastasia Faiella Interior Design, June 2013**

> In September 2012 I worked with Andre Rothblatt Architecture to create a design for DIFFA, "Design Industries Fighting Aids".
> I needed Andre's talent and knowledge as an architect to design a table that would stand out and be something really unique! Our table design was for The San Francisco Design Center's table. After a few preliminary concept designs we settled on a theme, "Dining in Morocco".
> We where very excited about how our design came together which included an exterior structure which is Andre Rothblatt's expertise. As an architect he brought his talents, technical skills & years of designing homes to the table. The exterior structure he designed for our table was a series of architectural panels that captured the aesthetic of the Moroccan style.
> Andre did an outstanding job listening to my ideas and then interpreting them into working drawings.
> I have also collaborated with Andre Rothblatt Architecture on Kitchen and Bathroom remodels. He brings his years of experience navigating the permitting process and the remodeling industry to the project which in the end saves my client's time and money.
> I highly recommend Andre Rothblatt Architecture for any remodeling, kitchen, bath or new home designs.
