We were founded in 1990 by Scott Walker. He was at the time studying for his degree in architecture and working as a draftsman. However, he soon realized that his yearning was to build and be out of the office. Matt Sommer, his former college room-mate, was his first employee and is still with the firm, working as a project manager and cabinet designer/builder. We have always preferred to renovate homes. The opportunity to work with clients and their older homes is a creative process that we thrive on. Solutions can present themselves during the building process. Our thorough, creative and hands-on approach to managing a project takes full advantage of these opportunities. We are a full service contractor, with excellent relationships with our tradesmen, who we rely on. Working in your home, most often while you are living in it as well, is what we do. We make every effort to ensure this process is pleasant as possible. Our cabinet shop, located in Northbrook, is staffed with skilled craftsmen and finishers. We bought a home that the renovated for resale and had cabinetry additions and some interior changes completed by them before and after we moved in. You will never have to follow up with them about timing, the quality of their work or the professionalism of their workers. The do it right the first time, period.
