Our GC said he's done a million showers and that it's not a big deal, so he would do the shower installation. Big mistake. Huge. Both showers leaked, but my GC said "no problem" and that he could just replace the gaskets and everything would be okay. NOT. I then spoke with my Super and he said he had a handyman who's expert with things like leaky showers. He came but also wasn't able to help. Finally I reached out to an architect friend who I should have consulted from the start. He told me that GlassCrafters were the pro's in the field and that's who I should call. At first GlassCrafters was hesitent to get involved with someone else's mistakes, but after explaining how we ended up with floods on our floors whenever we took even a quick five minute shower, they stepped up and said they would come an inspect. What pros! They fixed the problem with both showers that no one else seemed to be able to figure out. We can't speak highly enough about GlassCrafters. Really know what they're doing, and, best part -- we were so desperate would have paid anything, but they were so reasonable it really made me sorry I hadn't called them first for the installation. **★★★★★ — Grande Central New York Showroom, March 2017** > Positive experience with professional team. Manufacturing quality product of great selection and custom capabilities, application and finishes. > Erika is a girl to go to for prompt assistance. **★ — jeff feinberg, Feb. 2017** > In the course of doing a whole house renovation, we went to our local, upscale, plumbing supply/fixture showroom to inquire about a glass enclosure for our new marble master shower. > After looking at samples in the showroom, we selected our glass and hardware. The showroom uses Glasscrafters as the fabricator/installer. Within the first year, we noticed mold growing around the bottom of the glass inside the silicone seal where the glass meets the marble. We also experienced the silicone strip on the bottom of the door tearing away. Most notably, the door and the panel to which it is attached shake in a disturbing way. The panel to which the door is attached is secured to the wall with only one bracket. > We have called in a local, highly regarded, glass fabricator and installer. They have told us that Glasscrafters should have installed AT MINIMUM THREE BRACKETS on the panel attached to the hinge side of the 1/2 inch thick door and they should never have put a metal channel along the bottom of the stationary panels. These panels should have been attached directly to the marble with a silicone bead. > We are very disappointed in the quality of the installation which appears to have been done with an eye towards cutting costs rather than maintaining the highest standard of quality. **★★ — wtfisthi, Sept. 2016** > They have nice products - good looking/well made shower doors, but are quite pricey and their install/service staff are shockingly unprofessional, though they have a good warranty policy they stand by - so mixed... If you can find this quality at same/lesser price elsewhere, do it 200%. Each time we needed to schedule initial measure, install and service - it took 2-7+ days to get a call back, difficult to schedule and the guy showed up 90+min late to appt - even complained to manager once, who did not give a s$%t - he was so rude! The initial install was lacking so had to get it re-serviced by the same guy (these are freelance installers who don't care about showing up on time), and then re-serviced again 6 months later.... I'd say for quality of install work + unprofessional tardiness, go elsewhere. They also charge an exorbitant add-on to install/deliver outside of NJ. **Comment from GlassCrafters Inc:** > Thank you for taking the time to write your review. I spoke to our GeneraI Manager as well as looked through our records to get an understanding of the whole issue here. I can tell you we do have GPS tracking on all of our company vehicles so we can keep track and record where all of our technicians are at any given moment and refer back to them on our system. So I referred back to your specific dates of services, whether it was the measure day, or deliver/ install date. As we do with all of our customers, you were given a range of time when we are scheduled to be there for your measure and delivery/install which is also kept on record here. I see that your measure time was scheduled between 9-10am. Our technician arrived at your home at 9:43am. The date of install you were given a time of arrival between 9-9:30am. The technician arrived at 8:51am. The other issue I'd like to address is our 90 minute late time arrival. There was a documented major car accident on the George Washington Bridge causing major delays, delaying arrival to your home and not neglect or any personal issue on our technician's side. A phone call was made to you to alert you to know what was happening and why. Our objective has always been to provide a remarkable customer service experience, superior quality products with top-notch, technicians which are the core of what matters to us here. Never use harsh, abrasive or ammoniated cleaners on hardware or glass. Use only mild cleaners (soap and water – dish soap) and soft cloths. It is very important to maintain glass. Neglected glass will accumulate water spots that will eventually turn into mineral deposits. It is highly recommended to squeegee glass after each shower and use a surface protector, such as EnduroShield® (www.enduroshieldusa.com), to guard against the adhesion and build up dirt, grime, rust and mineral deposits. EnduroShield® offers the industry’s best 10 year warranty. These steps are recommended to keep your shower looking new for years to come. It is imperative that the squeegee is kept clean at all times to prevent scratches in the glass and to ensure proper function. It is also important to be very careful that any glass protectant that is used on the glass is not used or allowed to drip onto any hardware. Very tight, small bath and need tall toilet seat, Deep straight sided since to mirror the straight tub and stone top to continue around sink and across the wall behind and above the tall toilet, Want floor tile to match contrasting wall in tub/shower inclosure and perhaps run up the opposite wall. Suggestions for Oriental/modern feel. Calm using perhaps blue mosaic and longer white subway tiles stacked. Thoughts please.
