**Q: POLL: Light or dark hardwood?** *(in Polls)*

When it comes to hardwood floors, do you prefer light or dark flooring? I have to say my taste has changed over the years. What's yours?

A: Personally I prefer the exotic woods.  Whatever wood you have, I think the stain should highlight the natural grain of the wood.  The most important tip I offer is to "not" go with a gloss finish.  It's the high gloss finish that shows every footprint and speck regardless of the color.  A satin or matte finish is much more forgiving.

**Q: Love the pub set! Where can you purchased it?** *(in Photo Questions)*

A: I love the table...it is a one of a kind, custom made by the builder.  The legs are hand turned and the finial is from Enkeboll's.  The apron of the table is sculpted in plaster and the top in inlaid honed botticino.  Thank you for your question.

A: Thank you.  I ordered the chairs and pouf ottoman from Charles Stewart Co.  They are out of Hickory, NC and build upholstered furniture for the trade.  The fabric and fringe is from Brunschwig and Fils.

A: I love plantation shutters.  They add architectural interest to the interior, are easy to maintain and functional.  Shutters also work with traditional and contemporary settings and consider them a wise investment to your home.

Hi! Gorgeous rooms. What's the wall color?

A: Hi Erin, yes, the metallic paint needs to be applied with a special roller by Modern Masters.  I also recommend using their primer first and mixing their extender into the paint (per the directions).  The extender will keep the paint from drying too fast and allow you to roll from ceiling to floor before drying.  I love recommending Modern Masters metallic paint, but I do recommend asking an experienced painter to paint the walls for you.  Good Luck, I'm sure you will love your metallic walls!
