Our situation was that the previous owners partially remodeled a 1970s era kitchen, and it was not holding up well. The space was oddly shaped and on the small side, and we really needed help figuring out how to maximize our space and making sure we didn't make any serious design mistakes. Donna to the rescue! We went through at least 3 different layouts before we landed on the right one - this was actually a very important part of the process, because it gave us the push to think about what we wanted and why. All drawers are 24" standard depth. There is a typical half-framed wall behind the tile on the stool side. The depth of the peninsula at the deepest point behind the cooktop is approximately 43", and at the left end is about 35" Deep. This allows for 15" of surface landing BEHIND the cooktop at the deepest/centered point. It is better looking and has a built-in safety issue around the cooking surface.
